Had some trouble brewing up a good 70/30/18mg TFA spearmint @ 2.5%. Was a little tasteless so I doubled the flavoring to 5% which brought out the flavor but still lacked sweetness. 1% TFA peppermint helped a bit but the peppermint is strong so any more than that will probably start to overpower the spearmint. Gonna have to get some of that TFA EM on my next order as I believe that may help in this case.

70/30/18mg TFA Watermelon @ 5% turned out quite nice, sort of like a jolly rancher watermelon IMHO. It seems to hit a little on the harsh/bitter side so I may try finding another flavor to mix with it to see if that helps. This is one I'll steep for a few days before adjusting. EM might help here, too.

Peppermint came out quite nice @ 5%. I tried adding 1% of cinnamon redhots but I'm not sure if it helped or hurt it yet. Gonna need a few more days on that one.

Those are the only flavors from TFA I've tried so far. Got a few Lorann flavors to try next. :vapor:

So I ordered a bunch of TFA flavors and am trying to find some recipes but haven't found much. Does anyone have any good recipes for these flavors?

These are all in 6ml bottles as I just wanted to try to find some new flavors I like then order big.

Green Apple
Graham Cracker
Cotton Candy (Circus)
Absinthe
Cinnamon Sugar Cookie (Snickerdoodle)
Grape Jolly Rancher
Banana Nut Bread
Waffle

Flavor enhancers I think.
Sweetner
Ethyl Maltol
Tart and Sour Lorann

let me know how you like the absinthe, I might want to get that one

Hy everyone, I'm bringing up an earlier subject sorry about it. About the RY4 asian, how much EM do you use, 1-2%, or more? Should I add VapeWizard along with EM?

I mix my RY4 Asian at 14% with 6% EM. I think the general rule is you use up to half as much EM as the principle flavor. I have only recently started experimenting with vape wizard. I wouldn't mess with this recipe because i like it the way it is - also the EM already gives it a smoothing effect. but if you try the vape wizard i would love to know how it turns out.

I haven't tried tfa spearmint but since spearmint is so much more sublte than other mints, I think it requires a lot of flavor, especially if you don't want it to be overpowered when mixed with menthol and/or other mints. i love tasty puff spearmint at 22% with 4% sweetener and 1% koolada. However i use at least 60% VG so you may be able to get the flavor you want with smaller percentages.

FYI: I am collecting recipes where ever I find them, so, my next report update (for this thread ) will only show recipes that are using TFA flavors exclusively.

i can see how you would want to: I buy from WL and use tfa when i have a choice for the same flavor but I'm guilty of accidentally not distinguishing in this thread. I suppose i should be in a WL flavoring thread.

Anyone have a % for HPNO Type?

I'd like to know a good starting point for this as well.

Just tried out some peach and English toffee
Peach (juicy) @ 7% 70/30 18mg - not a bad flavor and I don't usually vape fruit/sweet flavors. Refreshing without being too sweet.
English Toffee @ 5% 70/30 18mg - Smells buttery in the bottle but vapes with a nutty/slightly bitter (coco) taste. Could go to 7% or 9%.

Does anyone have information on the percentages on the following flavors:

Coconut Candy
Coffee Flavor Extra (clear)
Earl Grey Tea
French Vanilla
Green Tea
Honeydew
Lemon (water Soluble)

I am thinking of ordering them but wouldn't know where to start with them

Coffee - 5% or less (that stuff is strong)
Green tea - 7% - 10 %

eikon

anyone have much luck with the Black Tea? for me, @10% it tastes of pine-sol:blink:, @2% it's like drinking some weak tea in the middle of a pine forest, the pine notes actually work surprisingly well with a touch of tobacco and a hint of menthol.

<!--Addition-->
Coconut Extra is a brilliant ensemble actor, just keep him out of the spotlight. In small doses he will bring a lot to the party, unfortunately, if you cast him in the lead, he tends to turn the party into a death march.

I keep him between .5% and 3% depending on the mix.

I have some Coconut Candy on order, hopefully it has learned from the mistakes of it's older brother and can handle it's self on it's own...
<!--End Addition-->

The OP set the tone so I thought I'd follow.

I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread similar to other companies threads where we can comment, suggest, review flavorings from The Flavoring Apprentice. I know I use them primarily for my flavorings and would like suggestions/reviews and maybe recipes and starting points for using their products.

Perfumers Apprentice - The Flavor Apprentice - World of Flavors

You might buy some from WL, but, they identify their flavors as well as TFA's. Doesn't matter where you get them, they're still TFA flavors.

I just went through this thread and compiled a list of the recipies for my DB.

You can view it HERE

An example:

If I found a recipe that was ambiguous, I did not include it. Also if a flavor was not listed on the TFA site it probably wasn't included either. Whenever possible I have used the "official" flavor names. If you posted a recipe and it is not included let me know, but, please check your post and see if I used the "official" name.

As I include recipes, I will "like" your post to let you know it has been included.

If you are reading this post and the PDF link is dead it means I have updated the report later within this thread.

I finally realized I posted this here instead of the TFA recipe thread. I am moving it there and have just posted a new report. Further updates will only be posted there.

Here is the NEW POST LINK.

...
Since I'm not tasting any pine (Black Tea 60/40 @12% 12mg), I checked my setup--2.9 ohm coil, 3.2 V = 3.6 W. Start to taste something similar to pine @ 3.6 V. By 4.2V, it has a very off taste to me. Maybe try higher ohms/lower volts?

Also, try a different wick, if you can. I vary wick from SS to silica to cotton, and each changes the flavor I perceive. Recently, been using silica for Black Tea. (and cotton for RY, and SS for Tobacco Abs)

I have been experimenting with the Earl Grey. The first batch was at 15% and you could have stripped
paint with it! 8-o To make a long story short after several failed attempts (down to 5%) it was still too
strong.:( I did come up with a winner tho, call it Pineapple Tea:
8% pineapple
2% earl Grey
1% EM
If you don't care for Pineapple Mango works well too :headbang:
