I will certainly look into it! THanks! :D

You're welcome! No one should be in pain when it can be helped especially without meds. I have full range of motion back in my shoulder. Now I know how to stop the inflammation before it gets really bad. At first when you massage sore areas, it does hurt. Gradually, it goes better with less or almost no pain. If you are badly inflamed, ice is a miracle.

For hips, it's often your IT band, the muscle that runs along the side of your leg. We carry a ton of tension there. The best way to manage it is with a foam roller. Runners love them. Here's a video to explain how to do it.

I am going to chime in on the fun ! yesterday I had a cobb salad and a turkey wrap with a hand full of almonds and jogged 1.10 miles on the treadmill , did a 30 min core class and 15 minutes in the sauna .

Today so far a bowl of chilli for lunch , 1 individual piece of cocoa dusted chocolate truffle  I cup of coffee and plan on having a couple slices of turkey wrapped in lettuce and a thing of yogurt for dinner . I am finding that if you squeeze a couple drops of lemon or lime juice (I prefer lime because they are way cheaper ) into your water bottle it helps alkalize it and reduces your appetite :)

I mentioned in the big thread, but will mention here too that a fitbit is a great addition to your exercise regime and diet, if anyone is feeling generous and wants to get you one for the holidays…..

I just achieved Marathon status in the last 7 days. (so it actually TOOK 7 days to get there but at least I know I'm moving):D

DH said he got me something for Christmas, I sure hope it's a fitness tracker!

(and since we aren't buying for each other this year, he's saving it for my birthday..)

Robin, you'll have to let us know how you like that diet/calorie program. It would have to be awesome for me to pay for it, my fitness pal is free.:)

So far I've found out I am under eating LOL
Nice to see everything laid out. How much I am allowed, calorie wise, and how much I have worked off. It also tells you what you need more of to be more balanced. It is more of a metabolism tracker. I think it will get a better idea of what I need after it has tracked me for about a week. I have a goal set for 130 lbs by March 10th. The program says that is "manageable" LOL.

I will know if it is worth it after a couple of weeks.

I'm pretty sure it is arthritis. When the ct scan was done of my midsection, the arthritis was mentioned then. I already figured that out  They weren't telling me anything I didn't figure out for myself ;)

I will still utilize the above. Can't hurt to try :D
Well, hurt much anyway

Heh heh - no pain, no gain, I guess. Yeah, I was told many years ago that I have arthritis in my neck. But with massage and healthy eating, I'm pain-free. No meds. I wonder whether everyone has some bit of arthritis.

Yeah, I know exactly when I destroyed my hips. One weekend we walked MILES in NYC with the teens and the following weekend we must have doubled that in DC just Rick and I. I was in some serious pain and have never quite gotten over that. Most of the time I'm good. Just when I overdo it.... I know ;) I refuse to take meds. It just seems as though once you start... One thing leads to another cuz the meds do something to something else while it takes care of the original thing.... Vicious circle. It is not debilitating by any means. I just know to ease off for a day.

Robin, I knew you weren't consuming enough calories.. Seriously, try to hit the mark the program gives you. You will feel better and the weight will shed faster.

I'm gonna bookmark it now, but will wait for further review from ya..

I think I am going to like it. There is some input for meal stuff but since we mostly make the same things over and over again, once entered you can favorite the information and just drag and drop into the appropriate box.

I do believe that you can download a sample program. Since Rick had used it before, he said to just get it. He had looked at a bunch and thought that one did a better job.

I will def. let you know how it works out. Hell, you guys will most assuredly hear about it here

I was diagnosed back when I was 40. Had it long before that. There is no good way to deal with it...especially when it is all over. Drugs are effective but who wants to be pumping your body with that stuff all your life. No thanks. I just deal with it and don't complain. It changes nothing. It's a part of life.

DH mentioned he ordered my gift from Amazon and it hasn't come in yet.. I replied, oh I hope it's a fitness tracker..

He wouldn't say for sure but mentioned a friend's husband got her a fitbit because she didn't like the Garmin one she had.

Busy day today but starting with elliptical as soon as kids/DH get up and out.

The program is still "learning" me. Budgeted calories are slowly lowering. LOL
Budgeted for today: 1313 Started 2 days ago with 1349.

Weight today: Back up to 138.2. Dinner last night was probably the killer  Mashed potatoes and gravy....one of my 'shouldn't make cuz I don't have much self control when they are there' foods.

Metabolic Rate is 1662 down from 1695 when they assigned that number to me when I started.

I kinda like having all this information. It will be interesting the more days that get entered. Rick says it takes about a month for it to really figure 'me' out. Ok.... I'm in for the long haul. :)

Today's goal: 5 elliptical miles
