Just got this kit today from a trade deal (thanks chowderhead!)

Getting ready to wash the components and set it up in my nautilus/term-c from okcvapes.

Im starting this thread to avoid flooding and hijacking the term-c thread with questions about the kit.

So here it is...

20130719_234948.jpg

To all of you lucky enough to have had the kit for a few days now I have a question or two....

For installing on my mkb-ts and ggts base, should I just unscrew and remove the small air adjustment screw from the positive post to open it up and allow air adjustments through the mkb-ts' air control ring?

How exactly does the driptip adapter tube work?

Thanks in advance for info and ill update with pics as I get going.

Also please post pics of your conversion kits and experiences/opinions :D

Got this thing chugging along with some hhv serendipity, vapor production is great, taste is great... not quite cotton and microcoil dripping great, but its up there! Probably better than any other genesis, or tank system ive used.

The juice control is awesome and get no leaks or gurgles like I did with the term-c.

Very nice piece of kit here!

The mouthpeice is a little small compared to a stock term or oddy but I dont mind it and haven't got around to trying the driptip adapter tube yet.

Glad you are lovin it.

I myself find it to be "meh" so far. But I will say the efficiency is off the charts in that I get more flavor out of this at 10watts than I get out of my Kayfuns at 13watts not to mention 15w+ that would be needed in a fat wicked Zap. Going on the EVIC if I ever get my battery cap from KirFanis.

What tagster said. It's the silly-cone inside the stardust, or vivi nova. Sometimes there's a little metal funnel inside the silicone piece that should be removed.

I also removed the carb screw entirely to allow all AF control to be handled by the GG/MKB collector tank.

My last tip (because this thing really is so freak'n easy): It seems beneficial to arrange wick material right over the channels where juice travels up to the coil so that the wick conceals the channels. This just seems to keep it from flooding as readily. When I wasn't as careful to arrange my wick this way it seemed if I left the device alone for awhile and forgot to close the juice flow, there would be some flooding when I returned. I could also flood it if I opened the juice flow too much. With the better arrangement, my device really doesn't flood at all no matter how haphazard I get.

For the drip tip mouthpiece, I didn't have the appropriate silcone cap (the T3 one is too small) but in desparation I found that a cartomizer condom cut short did the trick. It looks to be a little too big but simply slip the condom over the mouth piece (don't put a hole in the top yet) and then push the outer carto sleeve that comes with the kit over the condom sleeve. It'll compress the condom enough and actually provides a nice tight fit. Once it's all put together just poke a hole in the condom with a small screwdriver.....works great and is tight enough to allow for easy turning of the juice control. The main advantage of this over the silicone cap method is that the condom is in contact with the sleeve over it's entire length making it a much firmer and stable assembly....

Geez it was hard to stop laughing at some of the points in this description....

Ya- my air control screw is already removed to use the air control ring on the mkb,

So for the driptip adapter- do you use the small chimney or is the short chimney just for using the term with one tank section (in short mode)?

Does the metal DT adapter tube slide down inside the term topcap? If so I assume thats what the other larger ID o-ring is for.

As for leaking... Sofar since last night when I set mine up I havent had a drop of a leak or gurgle. after making my figure 8 , I tucked the loops downwards towards the channels and then screwed the air chamber tube section on instead of feeding the wick upwards, trimming, and poking them back down like todd does on his reviews of kayfun type attys. I have juice control open about 50% and its working great.

Im thinking about doing a cotton micro-coil tonight and wondering if the small cotton wick will be enough to prevent leaks.... I guess I will find out when I do it. :)

Im still having a hard time visualizing the use of the driptip adapter... I know I seen a german vid on how its done but cant find it now, I dont mind the skinny mouthpiece though so not a big deal. thanks guys

Regarding coils, I used a a standard figure 8 with German silica for mty first build and it work quite well. However I was just getting into micro coils and thought WTH I'll try one on the Kayfun kit. I built a coil at 30g 8 wraps at about 1.5 ohm with enough cotton to extend down the side and across the bottom above the channels.

It performs flawlessly and the flavor is noticably better than the german silica. It also wicks beautifully, no flooding and no dry hits so far...I'll see how how long it works for and figure I'll have to change the wicking with each fill....I'm assuming the cotton should stand up quite well as long as it stays saturated with juice....

ok I get it now... for some reason I was thinking the driptip tube went down past the o-ring and into the tank, wont the driptip be really long using the adapter or does it look ok?

Anyone got a pic of the dt tube in action?

The carto condoms I have are way too big, luckily had an old vivi nova laying around

I dont think this is right, its way too tall, Im going to try securing the adapter tube to the shorter chimney and use the larger ID o-ring ... that should put the dt at the topcap level.... probably what you guys are getting at to begin with :D
