This new coil I built last night is a BEAST! Plus there is so much cotton in there 100% VG juice is no issue all the way up to my 30W max.
I've found the same to be true also!:) My wick is wrapped around a 3.4 mm screwdriver shaft, and I have a "BIG" wick going through it! The wick ends fill each side of the deck, and it feeds juice like a pipeline!:) I also use high VG Juice 70-80,and NO dry hits!

Good to know. I've never considered going this big. I'll be giving it a try next time I rebuild. Thanks for the tip.

Are you referring to the 2.0 ohm build on the previous page? I was curious how well she performed when you posted the pics.

I was referring to that build. It ran quite well, but to be honest a 2 ohm coil takes too many volts to heat up and was draining my battery too fast. I pulled it out and put in a 1.4 ohm version of the same thing last night. I used 28awg kanthal for both coils. I used 2 small nails ziptied together end to end as my jig to wrap around. Once I had my coil installed and adjusted I snipped the zipties and pulled the nails out. I'm looking for something else to use as the jig in the future, but that worked for now. The shape of the coil being ellipse (correct term, not oval as I previously stated) lets you keep the coil low to the deck with a large ID.

Interesting idea... I've never wrapped anything but round coils. I'll try that one day.

I think it would be cool to have a slotted air hole under the coil, running length-wise along the coil. How can I pitch the idea to Eleaf? :) They could sell it as a separate post so not everyone would be forced to use it.

If anyone is interested, I just picked up 3 drops at Ovale for $21.99 ea. They also have grooves machined into the top chimney cap, which makes it easier to remove. At first I thought they might be clones, but everything tells me they legit. Anybody else have the same grooves in the chimney cap?

It seems early release Lemo Drops did not have the knurling in the chimney cap, and that feature was added a little later in production.

That's a nice price for the Drop.

EDIT: That's an AWESOME price for the Lemo Drop. So good, in fact, it may be a misprint. The full size is listed $12 more. Get 'em while you can, I guess.

Lemo Drop Rebuildable Atomizer Kit - Ovale USA

Indeed... Thanks, guys (gals? :))!

Already been done, it's called the Billow. Dual elliptical air tubes under the coils with dual afc's. I run it at 65w when I need a quick nic fix.

I built the 3.4mm coil to 0.80 ohms, using 26ga kanthal, with 5 wraps! Then wick it with Organic Cotton. I make it fit kinda tight,(not tight enough to move the wires on your coil, though) so you feel some resistance, then pull the wick up on both sides into the "bunny ear" position, and slide the RBA body tube down over them, and screw it on. Then I cut the wick flush with the top of the body tube, and gently push the ends down to the RBA base,on each side. I then add some juice to it,and using a small blunt end needle, open up a small area above the juice channels. I've built this same wicking 3 times in a row,and get the same results every time!:) It's kinda goof proof,:laugh:and I never get a dry hit!:toast:
