    Good morning Dale, R1, and Fran, and to the sleeping Lurkers when they arrive. :wub:

    Have been up awhile, just now getting on.
    It was a gorgeous morning, so I took my first cuppa outside.
    All the birds are definitely up, busy, and noisy. :laugh:
    The buds on the trees are slowly opening, everything will be green soon.
    The oak out front has those little seedy snake things on it and is covering everything with a green haze...ugh.
    Good morning Lori :wub:

    Still cloudy here.
    Wow, you're way behind us in your bloom :?: All our trees are fully leafed out.
    Our pollen has been "high" for two months and boy is it playing havoc with me :(

    Oh we're definitely behind in the bloom, and I think this is somewhat early here. It just depends on the temps and sunshine, we've had quite a bit of both so far.
    We're supposed to be 76 today, and 83 tomorrow.
    Then rain/t-storms for the next four (starting Thurs.)
    But I don't think we've ever opened the pool this early.
    We've often opened it the last weekend of April, first weekend of May, but never mid-April.
    But it was getting nasty. Had a green pond scum growing on it...the frogs would've loved it, but ick....just ick. :laugh:
    It'll take a few more days, but it will be sparkling soon, then I can look at it until it's warm enough to float on a raft. :laugh:

    We're looking at 80 today with a small chance of rain again ... very gloomy.

    Everything is early this year, really hated to start using the A/C so soon but the pollen pretty much forbids open windows
    very much :(

    Got the bills paid, now to get that grocery shopping done ... again :rolleyes:

    Bet I don't find any cheap beef! :p

    I know, same here. The air hasn't really run all that much though, but like you, allergies forbids opening up the house.

    Beef short ribs, to braise. :D It's supposed to be an inexpensive cut that tastes AMAZING. At least our's have. :drool:
    A little bit of work pays off BIG!! :2c:

    I'm off to get some things knocked out too.

    Groc shopping on Thurs for our company that will arrive Wed. late afternoon/evening. :) Only going to be two nights that we need to plan dinner for, and I made the executive decision to eat out.
    Mexican one night, then the BBQ place the other.
    Thurs. my sister and her husband are busy all day til early evening with an Air Force retirement, I think DH may work on Thurs., my nephew and I will be running around, so we'll have lunch out.
    Friday is the (official) funeral/memorial for my Dad, so that will be lunch out, and dinner at my brother's/sil's house. Then, they all leave on Sat.
    So, it's a rather quick trip, I decided the evenings that we will have time to visit I won't have to worry about cooking and clean up. ;)
    This way, all I really need to plan for is breakfasts for them. :)

    I would Love to see one in person !!!
    That's the first time I've seen one on the ground, fairly close.
    We had two a tree at our house on the lake (years ago), and there's a place that two used to live, along a rural highway, we used to see them occasionally.
    But yeah, I've never seen one like this.
    Wish I'd have had my phone/camera, but I'm not one that keeps it glued to my body. :laugh:
    Darn it anyway!!

    Good morning lurkers:wub::wub::wub:

    Having bald eagles close is cool... until you realize they watch your small pets very very close:shock:
    We have eagles, large owls and some hawks that are capable of taking unattended pets around here all the time. No small animals around here anymore.:(

    Good morning Bobbi!! :wub:

    Agreed. We have large hawks, and owls around here too. I often see hawks just cruising around the skies here.
    In the yard across from where he landed is a small Koi pond. I know eagles have extremely keen sight, so who knows. Could've been a rabbit nest, or mouse, or just a rest.
    I didn't see it "get" anything. Could've been just scoping out other bird nests...really anything.

    I always go out with Rita and stay nearby, within a few steps, for those very reasons.
    She's around 12 pounds, not sure one could carry her off, but they could definitely hurt or kill her.

    My automatic drip coffee maker just died. :laugh: :( Guess it felt unloved.
    I went to brew a pot of tea for iced tea, and it's not warming or letting the water drip through.
    I know it's not clogged, I just cleaned it with vinegar last week, it's not been having any problems, and I checked the outlet...
    I have a Mr. Coffee at the lake, I'll get it on Thurs.

    Yup they sure are and they like trout,that's where I see them the local trout park.In the winter they have to put nets over the hatchery so they don't go for the easy ones,they can fish for free all they want in the river and they also throw the dead ones from the hatchery out in a field for them :)

    That is awesome, you've mentioned that before. That really HAS to be SOMETHING to see!!!

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Another spare pot for the collection :laugh:basic black Mr coffee is 18.00 bucks at WW :)
    IKR!!:laugh::lol::lol::lol::lol:
    The pot that died was a freebie from Gevalia, years ago when my prior pot, a really good old Krupps had died and I was too cheap to buy one...:laugh:
    I know that Krupps pot lasted 15 years!! But the ones now aren't the same. :(

    I bought a Mr. Coffee cheapie for the lake when we moved here. I couldn't tell a difference in the coffee between it and my Gevalia pot, so it's fine.
    I'm using the French Press daily now, but will use the Mr. Coffee for brewing tea for iced tea, and when family is here next week, or we have guests, which is a rare occasion.
    I have my mom's old Mr. Coffee at work, so there's another back up (for back ups :lol: ).
    We've used it in the winter time for heating water for hot tea.
    We now have a commercial coffee maker at work that has the top warmer too, so if need be, I can make hot water on it, and bring that one home too...so, all is GOOD. :laugh:

    I'm guessing something blew. When I went to pour out the water, there was a black mark on the cutting board it sat on. I put it on a small cutting board that goes on top of a folded kitchen towel, that was it was easy to slide out when I brewed anything...don't like that steam up under my cabinets.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
    Red X until I quoted, too funny!!! Poor little baby. :laugh:
