Did you ever see the pic put out for city kids about where bacon cheese burgers come from :laugh:thought I better not post that one here :lol::lol::lol::lol:
Probably not  I sure don't recall it :?:

Around here people aim for them when in trucks, this time of the year they migrate from pond to pond and folks don't want them in their ponds eating their baby fish :)
    Noooo!!!!!
Why can't we all just get along? :p

I know!! I didn't know it at the time, wasn't hardly as big as a half dollar.
    Awwww! Perfect pet size :D

Don't think I'd want a snapper as a pet they bite HARD and some are protected also ;)
OH!! I didn't pay close enough attention to that!

Country ribs are a cooking but I found out DH has to run back out at 5:10, looks like supper will be late after all ;)

Around here, people stop to pick them up to eat them.
I pass a pond on my way home. It has a partially submerged boat dock that sits kind of at an angle, they'll line up and sunbathe on it.....the snapping turtles.

Probably not  I sure don't recall it :?:

Yeah, it was a snapping snapping turtle. They'll tear the snot out of ya...won't even let go if you cut their head off.
There's a story of a guy who caught one in the lake we live on, actually got it up to the boat (which I find extremely hard to believe), that he scooped it in his fishing net, then because of the weight of the turtle, the handle bent, and the turtle latched onto his thigh....wasn't pretty for him...so the story goes.
That's been told and retold for years, I have no clue if it's true or not...although whoever tells it swears it is.
Lori it's the weekend now :D
I had already shut my pooter down. Had stuff to put in my car, so I clocked out about 10 minutes early.
Not a lot goes on from 4:45 til 5 in the offices on a Friday evening anyway. :)

Not sure when DH will be back but it'll be ready when he does get here :)
    Awwww good wifey.

...they closed down April's giraffe cam.
I guess it was causing too much of a distraction and the workers were having to answer too many comments, or something like that.
They're supposedly going to turn it on periodically so people can watch, but not run it all the time now.

Oh yes, please and thank you! :)
    Ewww!

    :p
Supper has been eaten and cleaned up :D
I tried it once. I didn't want to like it, it was actually good. It tasted like chicken....better than chicken really.
    Pure white meat...what I saw.
Their heart pumps for a LONG time after it's been cleaned too...it's creepy.

So, I showed DH the little one, he said a bird or something had to have gotten it. It's shell wasn't smashed at all.
He thinks if I ran over it with the tire it would've smashed a little one like that.
...or he just loves me and is saying that.

    :lol::lol::lol: Your DH :laugh:

Yeah, I could do without watching their little heart pumping o_O
Enough to watch a side of beef still twitching in the cooler

Had one bite off the end of a 1"X2" board one time trying to get it into my truck

It was still on this morning then they had some 10 or 12 min shorts flicks :)

They can get REALLY large. We occasionally have one go through the yard at the lake.
Their spiney tails freak me out. So prehistoric looking.

:laugh: Oh yes, for quite some time

Have you ever seen one in real life, or been around them??
They have them in AR, right??
