Good afternoon lovely lurkers.

Joey, glad to see you have the surgery scheduled...hoping it brings you much relief.

So last night turned into quite an adventure...not in a good way...around midnight our precious furbaby had some kind of mini stroke or something...they're not really sure what it was...it was very short lived but terrifying...he just seized up all of a sudden and then slowly fell to the ground unable to move and very disoriented...this happened once before about 6 months ago, but it only lasted about a minute and we weren't sure that it wasn't just that he had fallen asleep funny and just had trouble waking his body up...the vet at the time said he wasn't sure and to just keep an eye on him...he's a very happy, healthy dog and very active...no signs of anything wrong.

We had to rush him to the emergency vet on the other side of the river (the one on our side was delivering puppies by cesarean and couldn't take him). By the time we got there he was doing much better and like nothing had happened. They couldn't find anything wrong but think it might be some kind of heart arrhythmia or something. He now has an appointment with the cardiologist in 2 weeks.

He's acting just fine now, we're the ones who are exhausted...didn't get to bed until 4 am. So now we just keep an eye on him and wait for his appt with the heart doctor...can't believe my dog has to have a heart doctor!:?:

Yeah it was scary...our furbabies are definitely family and so when something's wrong with them we worry all the same...he seems fine now, but we're anxious to see what the heart doc has to say...right now he's eating up all extra attention and loving it. ;)

Lori, roast beast sounds wonderful! Not sure what we'll be having here yet.

Yeah they will eat anything...ours has been known to eat rocks with no problem:rolleyes:...but since this is the second time it has happened, they want to find the cause...they don't think it was a seizure...and he's watched pretty closely here most of the time, so don't think he ate anything to cause it, but you never know with a lab. ;)

No nap for me...if I did, I'd never get to sleep at a decent time tonight and then it'd be truly awful getting up tomorrow.
