Thought I grabbed this earlier.
You need to quit that. :(

That was all I used to buy for tuna, until I found out that it's higher in mercury than the tuna used in the chunk light.
One article I found said 3x higher than chunk light. :(

    Chunk Light Tuna Vs. Albacore
I don't care for it in oil (at all ).
    Thought I'd mention that.

It IS good stuff. So is the chicken salad from their deli. The croissants are from the local bakery, so it's a meal I love!!

Me too...well they're also a popular wedding flower, just miserable to try to work with.
    Wow, that's still hot. :(

I'm lucky in that respect. DH is really pretty easy going when it comes to food, just no onion or tomato.
Meat and potato in any form and I'm good to go. He even eats a few veggies.
He just doesn't want a hot, heavy meal when it's hot out and he's been out in the heat, so I knew it was a safe meal plan. :)
I'm with your DH, once it gets so hot out hot/heavy food kind of loses it's appeal :(

Kad, do you have one of those coffee canisters with a valve?? I'm thinking about getting one.
Do you think that would help keep the oils from drying out?
I just looked at them this a.m., haven't researched anything really. Saw one from Coffee Gator. That's the brand of pour over kettle I bought. It's really nice...just too slow for work mornings.
The bag my coffee comes in has a valve, but I would just like to get it out of the bag...

This coming week is going to be official BLT week here, just a warning so y'all aren't Jonesing :D

I'm good to go gave up on getting prego long ago :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Mercury

Albacore tuna contains more mercury than chunk light tuna. If you are pregnant or nursing, or planning to become pregnant, you should limit your intake of fish high in mercury; you can safely consume just one 6-ounce serving of albacore tuna or 12 ounces of chunk light tuna per week, according to the FDA. You should follow the same guidelines when feeding tuna to young children, as ingesting too much mercury can cause damage to the nervous system of babies and young children. If you do not fall into these high risk categories, the FDA states that you do not need to worry about limiting your fish intake, but the Environmental Defense Fund, or EDF, recommends eating chunk light tuna just once per week. The EDF is also more conservative in its recommendations for children, noting that they should have no more three servings of chunk light tuna or one serving of albacore tuna each month.

    Taste and Texture
Canned albacore tuna is white-meat, albacore tuna sold in large pieces. It has a meaty texture and mild flavor. Chunk light tuna is usually made from skipjack tuna and is pinker in color with a flaked or shredded appearance. It has a slightly more intense flavor. Some chunk light tuna is made with yellowfin, which has almost as high a mercury content as albacore and as such, check the ingredient list on the brand you choose.

Nope Kraft from the box and I only buy solid white albacore tuna in water never the mush stuff or in oil :D

Oh my word, you ruined blue box Mac n Cheese with tuna and peas. Blasphemy!! Just teasing. If you love it that's all that matters. :)

81 degrees here. Was super windy all day, though that has settled down.

We buy chicken of the sea in water, because it's chicken, right? ::said in my best Jessica Simpson voice::

I don't like eating heavy in the hot weather either or using the stove. Need to hit Pinterest for some healthy grilling options. We already do chicken and burgers and all sorts of foil packet veggies.

Chicken salad on croissants are perfect on hot days. Yum. That's an idea, just maybe on a wrap or lettuce leaf

Omgosh, you all know how much I love my ice cream. Well, DH picked up some Yo2 by Kemp's. Peanut Butter fudge chocolate frozen yogurt. Let it temper a bit and it tastes just like ice cream. Texture and everything, plus it's less calories, fat, sugar. I've found my new frozen treat for the summer. Sooo good.

Don't know about the oil, in theory the valves serve a different purpose. Fresh roasted coffee out-gasses for a few days. With a valve, this gas will displace the oxygen and help keep the coffee fresh longer. After those first couple days, I doubt the valve really does anything.
I do have a Coffee Gator canister, a gift from my girlfriend. I actually use it to keep my ground coffee for my drip coffee maker in it, usually enough for 3 or 4 days.
Press coffee never gets ground until right before I make it. When I roast, I store my coffee in one of those valve bags so I can squeeze the air out whenever I open it.

I hear ya, was just mentioning it. :) I often eat it twice, if not three times a week (in some form, sandwich, or tuna pasta) in the warmer months. I really love it. So, I switched just because of the decreased levels.

Oh that's awesome about your BLT's!!!

Oh my word, you ruined blue box Mac n Cheese with tuna and peas. Blasphemy!! Just teasing. If you love it that's all that matters. :)

Okay, then I'll keep doing it that way too. :) Thank you very much for the info!! :nun:
I grind just before I make it in the press, I do a blend - two scoops of the special order coffee, one scoop Gevalia Mocha, and one scoop Gevalia Decaf, so it ends up 3 scoops reg, and 1 decaf.
I really like the blend, I really would LOVE to have the two Gevalia's in super fresh roasted beans...but the Mocha only comes ground, I'm sure the flavoring is somehow added after it's been roasted and ground. :nah: but...I do like the taste of the three coffees blended.
I'll venture out and try more new ones at some point, just not there yet. :)
I need to come up with some birthday ideas for my MIL, so I thought the canister might be a good idea.
    Thanks again!!!!!!!:thumb:

Sorry, got distracted with two family phone calls...anyhoodles, guess I'll say goodnight too.
    Sweet dreams all.
