    Goodnight OBG.

He could have, he's a real straight shooter though.
The way he looks at it is that there are hundreds of thousands of dogs/cats that need good homes.
You enjoy your pet while they're here, knowing from the get go that you will most likely outlive your pet.
When they pass, if so inclined, get another. The new one will love you as much as this one did.

...and, he's right. Just hard to be so cut and dry about it sometimes.

It didn't help that a woman was there with an old dog wrapped up in a towel, she was having it put down.
It was an old (13, same as Rita) Chihuahua, that didn't look like it was in that bad a shape. She said it had started dragging her hind legs this a.m. :(
...I wanted to snatch that baby out of her hands and bring her home with me...I truly contemplated it too.

So, I left thankful, but with a pit in my stomach.

    That's what DH said...well, it's not like you didn't know she's old.

Sometimes when you really dread going in, the day isn't as bad as you thought it would be.

    Gal, me too!!
Yes! Maybe tomorrow will be one of those days! :)

Rita may surprise you all ;)

Aw Lori...it's never easy being reminded our furbabies are getting older...no matter how much we may know it, it's still a difficult reminder sometimes...but remember Rita must be a tough old bird...she did just survive a fall down the stairs and got up and walked it off. ;)

Dale, hope your day isn't as long as you expect and that it goes quickly.

They are already making preparations here with sandbags and trying to clear out some of the major drainage areas that normally flood...they say it's not a matter of if it will flood, but just how much. :nah:

Guess I'm going to call it a night too...has been a frustrating day and I'm just ready to go relax with a book for a bit....good night and sweet dreams lovely lurkers.

No, but you're right, she IS a tough old bird, and she sure did get up and walk it off!!
I doubt I'd have fared as well as she seems to have.

Oh boy, hate that you're going to get flooding. :( Prayers it won't be bad.

    Sweet dreams Angel.

    Good night all.

    Good morning Lurkers :)

    Good morning OBG

Good morning lovely and handsome Lurkers

Good morning lurkers  have a great day!

Dale, hope it goes by quick. Angel, prayers it doesn't flood too badly.

Good morning OBG, Dale, Sara and lurkers :)

    Good morning lovely lurkers.

The rain has started...nothing heavy yet, just steady rain.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. :)

Good morning OBG, Dale, Sara, Joey, Angel, and those who haven't checked in yet.

Hope everyone has a good day, and if you're working, that the day is peaceful, and that it flies.

Angel, hope you don't get too much rain! :nun:

Off for my second cuppa, and then get ready to go. I have a routine (thyroid & general) check up later this a.m. with my Dr., and then some other errands.
    See y'all later. :)
