I also read the other states involved in the mega lottery are pulling out, also the state cant pay out if you win more than $25000 lol I wonder where all that money goes!!!

If memory serves, it's in some sort of trust. The money will still be there, otherwise it's lottery fraud and then in that case, people REALLY would go to jail, it just can't be paid out to the winners without a budget.
I think the state law was written that way as incentive to always have a budget in place.
There was a discussion at work about it, I looked it up, but it was last summer...so, I'd have to look again to say with certainty.
Scratch off was capped at payouts of $600, again...if memory serves.
There's a WHOLE LOT of $ sitting in the States accounts, they just can't legally pay their bills without a budget. Some of what we're hearing on the news is a bit embellished for big headlines.
I'm not saying that it's not bad, cuz...it's definitely not good, but it's not exactly like the sky is falling either....yet.
...again, just my take...paying attention about 50% of the time, but I have listened in on 3 Tele-Town Hall meetings, boring, but very informative.

Awesome price!!...the state has been paying their bills all along, at least to vendors, they're about 90 days behind, but they were always about 60 days behind even when things weren't so bad.
Part of it is it just takes FOREVER to pass through all the different channels.
A lot of them (road crews, etc.) carry credit cards to pay for small things, less than ?? $500 maybe...
Now, if that's changed in the last month or so, I have not heard.
