I have a dumb question for you folks.
I’ve been having an issue with my throat feeling weird, semi sore, hoarseness. My next f/u appt with the ENT isn’t until October. At this point I’m not ready to give up vaping and honestly I may never be as I could see myself smoking again in moments of stress or whatever. I am currently vaping flavorless, 100% vg and between 12-18 mg nic. I would like to make some flavorless no nic juice. So that would just be the vg and distilled water to thin it, right? Or should I try lowering the nic first to eventually get down to zero nic?

Back story: I started having problems with my voice when I was smoking. It freaked me out and I was able to quit smoking by switching to vaping. I went to the ENT to rule out anything serious. Learned that I had asymmetrical tonsils, cyst in my nasal
cavity and a deviated septum. So they took my tonsils to rule out cancer. When the results came back negative for cancer I was extremely irritated (relieved at the same time, don’t get me wrong but they scared the crap out of me with the C word) that I had had unnecessary surgery. He wanted to go in for the cyst and I said NO. It never bothered me, didn’t know it was there, leave it alone kind of thing. I can breathe just fine. They also said I had gerd and put me on a cocktail of meds. I took those meds longer than I should have and nothing improved the voice problems I initially went in for. I told his assistant I wanted off the meds and she said to take Zantac when needed. (Which is mostly never)

Anyhoo, the problems seem to be there and maybe slightly worse with the voice. I’m worried the nic may be irritating my vocal chords since that’s the common denominator with smoking/vaping. I wanted to try just the vg to see if things improve because I’m also curious if my addiction is the hand to mouth kind of thing.

Sorry for the novel, just wanted to see if I was headed in the right direction with vg and distilled water.

I don’t have a clue Sara, you can try it and see  How long since you’ve had your throat checked ?

Awww, bracelets :) that’s so sweet. But you gotta wear yours when she comes over. ;)

I’m going to say it will be a year in October. Quite frankly I wanted to cancel the appt. but I won’t. I just feel like I’m getting the run around. Not sure if I need to see someone who specializes in voice problems. I will tell him I want it looked into further when I go back. It’s frustrating.

I’m not much for bracelets

You probably should be seen by an ear nose throat specialist  Hope you have insurance!

Sorry to bog down your Saturday night with all the reading. I would like to play around with stuff before I go back to the doc so I can have a better feel for things. DH tells me to quit vaping but the problems started before I ever took that first drag/puff/hit of a vape. So unless it’s the nic, it’s not vaping that is the problem.

Bela will be over the moon to see your bracelet on your wrist ;)

You didn’t bog me down I just know the answer for you :( Probably shouldn’t ignore it too long though.

Doesn’t sound like vaping to me

Lol me either. But just wear it when you know she’s coming over ;)

I went to my PCP first and was referred to the ENT. This was like 3 years ago, maybe 4. I have insurance until they decertify my union thanks to Janus vs AFSCME case :-x
