I found something interesting on the kanger dripbox... On the battery "door" which is round and screws on and off, there is a piece across the center that allows you to raise and lower the height of the piece where the battery makes connection on the bottom. I wonder if it was up too high for the battery inserted and forced it to make a constant connection, thus making it continue to fire and causing the melt down of the atty. That would mean that it didn't truly fire on its own but was never actually able to not fire... Just a thought, I still don't intend to buy one, just suspect it may have had a reason to continue to fire until the atty was ruined. Since it is a mechanical there was no 10 second over ride.

It was mentioned in only one of the many videos I watched. I did not see it mentioned even in the video from Kanger themselves. When he took off the little battery cover and then started to turn that and it went up quite high then down all the way, a little light came on in me that wondered if that wasn't the problem. Funny, those little lights...

Wow, I sleep it. Rita woke me at 5, but then she and I went right back to sleep, and I didn't wake again until 7!
I usually wake several times before I get up (on the weekends).

So, somehow I managed to skin one of my brand new AW IMR 18650 batteries. Can I just put a spot of electrical tape on that and call it good.
I'm sure I would have done it taking it out of the charger. The spring loaded thing really will aggressively snap when I remove them.

Actually they say if it happens you shouldn't use the battery anymore. :(

I didn't think to show it to him last night. :)
He's in the basement. I'll catch him next time he comes up.

Well, I think that's why people have been re-wrapping their's.
I don't think that it had enough "trauma" that it couldn't be used.
