So tired this morning. o_O Sounds like another slippery commute. :nah:

ETA I hope they are wrong.
Good morning Sara  Sure hope you stay safe out there :(

It’s 70 degrees this morning and going to drop all day to an overnight low of 23  Difficult to dress for the day

They were wrong ;) Yes, it’s still icy but the roads were 100% better than yesterday

Layers, Dale ;) You’re definitely going to need them.

    @LoriP1702

What kind of French Press do you have? The Keurig has made it’s return to the counter and I’m just not a fan. So wasteful in addition to being unsightly.

A co worker mentioned getting DH one and I had a lightbulb moment. Remembered you have one and love it. Did a quick amazon search and wow! So many to choose from in all price ranges.

They all function the same Sara ;) Mostly depends on how many cups you want it to make ... 6 ounce cups that is

    Good evening all.
Not much going on here, have had loads of rain for two day, now it's bitter cold out, glad it happened in that order, we've had nearly 3 inches of rain, that would have been A LOT of snow.

Sorry your weather has been so bad Sara, I wouldn't be able to function there. ;)

Dale, that's a crazy swing in temps!! Dang!!!

We're supposed to be 17 tonight, with a feels like of 2. I believe it, the wind is just howling out there.

Sara, let me see if I can find it again...the French Press.

    Hi Lori!

I got caught in the worst of the storm going to work today, whiteout conditions  Makes me nervous.

Our low is 22 but I bet it won’t feel much different from your 17 ;) Not that I plan to be out at that time

The brand I have is Sterling Pro, but I don't remember what size it is.
I think it makes 6 cups maybe.
    Good quality.

Like Dale said, they all basically function the same.
I went with the one I did because it has a double wall, helps keep it warmer, but you can put your coffee in a thermos too, or anything insulated.
I just didn't want glass, I can be a clutz.

    Heavy snow?
Or a deluge of rain...if it was the deluge of rain...that's the system that we've been getting.
Just rained as hard as I think it could possibly rain, several times.

I had to let water out of the pool since DH is out of town, hadn't had to do that....had NO idea is was so simple.
Here I was all worried, about how to use the submersible pump, and he said...you stick a hose on it, drop it in the pool, and plug it in (our outside outlets are the protected kind).
    :laugh::facepalm:

Oh, and conditions in the big bed are no different for Rita than on the sofa.
When she started acting funny about sleeping in the bed, I started taking her pillow to bed, so she would be on that, just like on the sofa...
    ...nope...she doesn't want that either.
In almost a week, she slept one night, all night in the bed.
We napped there today, no issues.
It's very weird, it's a night time thing, so I'm thinking dementia of some sort. (sundowners)
I even tried leaving the table lamp on one night, I think that might have been the night she stayed in bed all night, but when DH gets back, that's just not doable.

She's most likely nearing the end, as much as I hate sleeping on the sofa, I will to keep her comfortable.
I have been able to sleep there with her a couple hours, then take her back to the bed, that seems okay.
If she's really half asleep, it's fine.

    Rain.

Thankfully the wind dried everything up pretty good so no icy road tomorrow :thumb:

Yes, same here with the wind.
Just took the recycling bin to the curb, BITING cold wind.

Thanks. I am too, but that's all part of having pets.
She's had a good, long life.
It could just be a weird spell she's going through, time will tell. :)

Heading off, have a good rest of the evening all.

Late getting on. The Invent-A-Thon was this evening. :) it was a fun evening, wish DH were there.

Thanks for the info on the French Press, ladies. Love that I can clean it and put it away, looks much easier than hauling the keurig out. Definitely can’t get him a glass one either. ;)

Sorry it’s your turns for miserable weather. Glad everyone is home safe. Very scary, Dale, not being able to see and that’s cool it was easier than you thought to drain the pool, Lori.

I know Rita’s had a wonderful life and I hope that everything is ok.

Our garbage/recycling was canceled last week due to the snow. Wasn’t sure if they were collecting the recycling this week because it wasn’t our week but I put it out anyway as it was full. Come home to find recycling emptied and garbage cans not  They must be behind from the ice storm. Left the cans at the curb and hope it gets picked up tomorrow.

Temps are rising here and the stuff is melting and sliding off the roof  scared the you know what out of both kiddo and I

I’m whooped and can’t wait for DH to come home tomorrow. Thank goodness it’s Friday, finally. Sweet dreams lurkers

    Good morning lurkers

KC, that is great news. Hope his recovery goes well. :nun:

Holy wind Batman!! Sounds like a freight train is barreling towards the house  60mph recorded speed. Can’t imagine being in a tornado, hurricane etc with wind speeds higher than that. Woke me several times during the night and kiddo ended up in my bed around 2.

I’ll say it again, thank goodness it’s Friday!!
