Good morning Sara  Shouldn’t you be sleeping in?

Yikes I’ve been been sneezing so hard I can hardly see
Good morning Dale  I hope your sneezing fit is all over and you can see now. You were up pretty early too ;)

Couldn’t sleep, too much on my mind. Need some advice........long story short, it appears that kiddos travel team is looking to make their team an elite team for this upcoming season. Kiddo is a decent soccer player, but he’s not an elite player. He most likely will be cut. He knows this but I’m not sure he understands what that means.

He has an opportunity to play for a different club, we registered him for a tryout and they responded with he’s been added to the roster. Problem is, kiddo doesn’t want to play for that club (nerves, won’t know anyone, will miss his current teammates) this new club offers so many more opportunities for now and the future (high school) should he wish to continue.

Whenever I try talking to him, he shuts down. I don’t force it. He thinks he can take a year off and make the team next year. I don’t want him to miss out on something he loves because he won’t try something new. The academy starts next weekend. Do we take him anyway and hope for the best or just let it go.

Aww Dale, you don’t have to apologize. I think I mostly just needed to get that off my chest. Sorry traffic was horrible. Holiday traffic? We are on our way to Syracuse. Weather looks like it has improved for tomorrow.

Update on the kiddo, we just transferred him over to grandma and papa’s car for the car ride. Had a chance to speak with DH. They were outside kicking the ball around and it sounds like he is giving it some real thought. :thumb:

Yep, the NYS Fairgrounds are in Syracuse. Not supposed to rain til late afternoon so things are definitely looking up. :) Thank you, Dale. Last hurrah before school starts.

Thank goodness he’s changing his mind. His biggest worry is having to play against his former team. Pool kiddo.

    Sweet dreams

Good evening  Thank you Dale for the perfect quotes. I read the second one to kiddo. :thumb:

Nope, he’s catching a cold. Hope it’s not a doozy. We stopped at the store to get him some relief. Made for a not so fun day for him.

Well I conquered a slice of breakfast pizza, a homemade donut, rolled ice cream, a pizze fritte (fried dough) a slice of salt potato pizza, moonshine slushie and a couple of Philly cheesesteak fries. :w00t: Good times. Hit 15000 steps and was hoping for more but everyone was tired. Lol!! The rain held off which was perfect!! Don’t think we will be as lucky tomorrow. But that’s ok

Thanks. Hoping he feels a little better tomorrow. He did finish his soup that we got him. Thank goodness this hotel had a microwave. Most of them don’t anymore.

I went back through my pics. The slushie was purchased at 12:48 ;) it was blue raspberry and very good.

    Sweet dreams

Good morning Dale and lurkers

    Ooof, little early, Dale.

On our way home. Ready for a nap. Didn’t eat quite as much today. Split a chicken bacon ranch wrap with kiddo. I knew how much he wanted one but no way could he have eaten the whole thing.

    Hope you’re having a good Monday. :)
    Hi Sara

Yeah a little too early, tried napping but it was a no go

On your way home, long weekend over eh? :(

    Bite your tongue!

Glad you made it home safe, how’s the boy feeling?
Awwww, I wish it were summer vacation year round. Much more relaxing.

He’s been in bed since a little before 8:30 and coughing up a storm. I gave him some “meds” 15 min before bed. I use that term loosely since you can’t give him most of the otc stuff and a spoonful of honey before I tucked him in. He’s so not going to sleep well at all. I feel bad for him. 5:30 is going to come fast. He’s on the early bus full time now. Guess it’s not the early bus anymore lololol.

I’m whooped. I knew it was a bad idea to switch fair days this year. We always go Sat/Sun. Will make sure not to switch it up next year.

    Sweet dreams Dale
