Good morning lurkers

Woot!! Another gorgeous day. Looks like some showers moving in for the weekend. But not a washout.

Family is mad at me because I nixed the idea of our annual bbq. I feel bad but I have to protect dh and kiddo. Did I already mention that? Sorry if I’m repeating. I suggested maybe the 4th of July.

Good morning Dale, Uggg. Can’t like the yuck weather. Sorry.

I totally agree and they will. It sucks but I think even if we could make it happen somehow I would be stressed the whole time.

Ah well, it’s keeping it a little cooler than we usually are :)

And you need it to stay as cool as it can for as long as it can. Soon enough you’ll be without rain and need it.

Starting to cloud up here. Mix of sun and clouds. Enjoyed the pool around noon came in for some lunch. Watching our bbq instacart order. Thank goodness people are still doing it, we realized we had no bbq snacks

Nope, trying to remain as stress free as possible. I know it will come back full force soon ;) We will tentatively be reopening to customers 6/6. I’m almost willing to bet I will be called back from my temp lay-off. Although they were talking about it possibly being appointment only before the lay-off.

Well it’s 80 degrees and terribly humid right now, we did just get a hard rain .... okay temp dropped 2 degrees

I went to dollar General and Harps this morning, glad I beat the rain! Thought I HAD to have snacks and fresh salad makings  Milk for DH of course. Got some chicken thighs cuz I’m sick of beef :laugh: We do have quite a bit of pork but I’ll have to dig for it

‘Appointments and masks would be good :thumb:

Gotta have snacks for the unofficial start to summer. At least that’s what Memorial Day weekend is also called around here. Obviously memorializing the military comes first.

How do you cook your chicken thighs? I’ve never made them. I know, I lead a somewhat sheltered life ;) we’ve always done either breasts, tenderloins and occasionally a whole chicken.

We are ready to make brownie sundaes, veggie platter, burgers/dogs, pasta and mac salad, deviled eggs, chips/dips and SMORES!!

In all honesty we don’t care much for breast meat as it’s so dry. Mostly I season and bake our chicken in the oven uncovered.

Sounds like y’all are going all out ;)

    ‘We supported DQ tonight

I hope you got an ice cream of some sort with your meal.

Well...we always went big for the holiday parties with the family. We did the same this year but on a smaller scale.

Hmmm, dry breast? Depending on where we get it for the most part it’s usually good and not dry. I will have to try chicken thighs sometime.

You know I did, why else would we eat at DQ

We just prefer dark meat over white ... unless I’m making chicken salad.
