That's wonderful Fran!!! :D It must have warmed up a bit for you :)

We may cool off here in a day or two, I sure hope so!
I should be in town buying groceries but just don't feel like it today so I'm sitting here watching my hair dry
Going to be making some beef stroganoff for supper so it's not like we don't have anything to eat ;)

    Good morning lurkers.

Oh yeah, I so need to steal that and post it to remind BF's mom!

So I wake up this morning to texts from the soon to be ex DIL wanting money from me...this girl has some nerve...she left for another man and then wants me and my son's father to both supply her with money...uh huh, like that's gonna happen! :glare:...I try to play nice with her so I have access to my granddaughter but after talking to the ex last night about the situation, we've come to a united front and are just fed up with her threats and her crap...there's only so much a person can take before they blow up! :grr:

It's mostly sunny here today, but apparently the one little rain cloud out there is right over our area right now.

And yeah her mom and dad already tell her no because they don't approve of what she's doing, so she tries to hold our granddaughter over our heads...well she's in for a rude awakening because we're not tolerating it anymore!

Yep, that's the truth...once she realizes that, she'll come around!
Don't most states protect the visitation rights of Grandparents to a degree??
I was thinking that they do.

I think so :?: Of course that's if you are willing to go to court over it
Yes they do Lori, and Dale is right, it would require going to court, which means hiring a lawyer, and having worked for a lawyer, I know how drawn out and how expensive it can be...if she tries to keep us from our granddaughter indefinitely, then the ex and I can go in on a joint petition if it comes to that...hoping that we can avoid that if possible though...and once my son is back, we'll definitely back him on getting her.

Well, and I'm sure it's not like it would be with a normal relationship where there is no drama...course, what's "normal" these days?

My niece and her ex did not split (divorce) on good terms, and it's going to be a rough ride until those girls are of age. :(
Just soooo much easier when all parties can at least get along well enough to share the time with all the people who love those kiddos. :)

    Good afternoon all!

No need to go through all that. Just give DIL small cute pet, like a duck or a bunny, something you can eat. Let her grow attached to it. Then when she makes some ridiculous threat about withholding your granddaughter, pick up the pet and snap it's neck in front of her and say "Do you really want to go down that road?" Then cook up the duck or rabbit and enjoy a nice meal while you stare at her menacingly. You'll scare the crap out of her. Oh, and make her eat too.
