That is amazing, Joey:wub:

awww Dale, I’m jealous. Hope you had a lovely visit.

work was h*ll but it didn’t help wr were short staffed. Grrr! We had hot dogs and I made buffalo cauliflower bites. Was going to air fry, but ended up using the oven so they would all be done at the same time. Hate batch cooking

Hey everyone. We had a very rough couple of days but today has been better and I am hoping I can get some sleep tonight. It is hard enough to get over one night but two nights in a row? My patience is dwindling.

Dad's 89th birthday is the 28th but Amazon is delivering his gift tomorrow and I will give it to him early. I have arthritis or something in my thumb and putting his shoes on and off all day and night has made it worse. Hard-bottomed bedroom shoes with velcro are going to help methinks. At least I hope so. I have not been able to play the guitar or uke all week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful, fun-filled weekend.

    Good morning Dale

Rat2, velcro sounds perfect! Sorry about your arthritis! You just reminded me of a task to add to my list lol I need to call our instrument place to see how much it would be to pay off kiddo’s sax. Can’t remember if I mentioned, he’s decided to quit band this year  and I have started to learn how to play it. If it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, I’m hoping to buy it. I hope your weekend is better!!

Dale, that is wonderful!! What an amazing friendship! I just keep truckin’ along at work. Some good days and some bad. Don’t want to wish my life away but I know you know I so look forward to retiring from there.

Well, I have a long list to get started on. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Being a federal employee does that mean you can retire early Sara?

Oh yes Rat2, what a milestone for your dad, hope he has a wonderful birthday :bday:
Wish it were federal, but it’s county. Almost feel they (state) treat their employees better. If I were 55 and had 20 years, I could. By the time I reach 55, I’ll have been there 27.

Went to the produce stand and got some fresh corn and other veggies. Then we went to the abbatoir to get some chicken and bacon. Never been there and I was relieved not to see a cow waiting to be processed :facepalm:

    It’s a hot one today!

It can be hard to come face to face with animals waiting to be slaughtered. I pretty much got over it but never watched the actual slaughter.... well, not on purpose anyway . I accidentally witnessed some but turned away pretty quickly.

So you could retire at 55?

I think if I saw that I would turn vegetarian right quick. I know animals are bred for food and I eat that food but….

If the county just happen to offer early retirement, I could. Sometimes they do sometimes they don’t. Unfortunately they will do what benefits them. I get it but also you need to take care of your employees if you want to have new people come on board. If you treat your workforce crappily then you aren’t going to get the newer generations.

Dh says I could retire at 55 and get my medical. This is really stuff they need to teach in school because I am so ignorant with regards to it.
Me too Sara, DH and I are just stumbling through my SS and SSI benefits hoping for the
best  Whatever I receive won’t be much but anything is better than nothing at this time, we’re kind of struggling at the moment. I know it will pass and get better but it’s always scary to me.

Oh we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans tonight. :)

Totally scary, Dale. I totally get that. When you are in your 20s (at least me) you aren’t thinking about that. We will instill that in kiddo right from the start.

We had chicken wing dip roll ups and fresh corn for dinner.

got to spend a little time in the pool today, looks like rain the next few days. I’m whooped lol

    sweet dreams
