    Good morning everyone

The rain has finally moved on, thank goodness. 60 today and upper 60s for the next 5.

No plans this weekend! Hope your day is short tomorrow, Dale. Have a great day everyone!!

I got in 1.36 miles this morning filling up the neighbor's garbage and recyclable cans. Of course, it is 39 degrees outside right now but it felt wonderful.

I got rid of 418 VHS tapes and the plastic boxes they came in. I am not sure why but mom taped a bunch of movies and shows. That is also how many VHS tapes will fit under a full-sized bed. heehee That was over 18 years ago and when they first came out, they tapes were pretty pricey. I just tossed a down payment on my breast mastopexy. bahahahaha

    Hi Rat2
My best friend’s birthday is this coming weekend so I had to go shopping.

That’s a ton of VHS tapes  Bet you were glad to get rid of those.

39 is a little cool to be outdoors in, especially if the wind blows.

Hope y'all do not mind but I am just going to copy and paste about my date so I don't have to type so much. heehee I am getting so lazy. heehee (sorry Fran, you have to see this twice)

I had an absolutely wonderful time. I did not know what to expect but it was just a cookout. Hamburgers and hotdogs and all the sides. They had the biggest, most gorgeous fire pit I have ever seen. I am guessing there were 25-30 people there. There was live entertainment. I enjoyed watching the man sing and play the guitar. It was more fun watching the karaoke after he left. There was a guest who had his guitar and his wife had a beautiful voice. There was another lady that did a fantastic job too. (there were no shower stalls, so I did not participate)

When we got in line, my friend got in front of me. I was mentally deducting points but then he handed me a plate and asked me what I wanted. He fixed everything on my plate for me. I have never had anyone do that for me and I must say, he ended up getting quite a few points added.

There was a border collie there that would not let anyone touch him although everyone tried. I am not sure why but for some reason the dog liked me. His owner went around the whole night telling everyone that Sam (the dog) rolled over and let me rub his belly. I think the dog knew I was hoping I would not do anything to embarrass anyone and made it special for me. When Jay announced that we were headed out, I cannot tell you how many of his friends came over and hugged me goodbye and said they were so glad I came. I am not sure if my new black sparkly half boots were touching the pavement or not as I walked away. It was a wonderful night.

I guess I did okay at the party because he called me out of the blue today and wanted to take me to lunch. I was at Targets shopping when he called and let me tell you, there quite possibly could have been smoke coming out of my behind as I left that store without buying what I went in there to get. heehee He took me again to my favorite restaurant and we split the Cowboy Burger again. It was officially our 6th date (yes, I have a list) and he said he would call me later on in the week, and if I did not have any plans, he would like to take me out. I am already looking forward to going out with him again. He is playing golf tomorrow for 4 hours. I asked him if he needed a caddie but he just laughed. I guess he thought I was kidding. I was not.

Hope everyone is having a great week!
That's fine with me. I much enjoyed reading.

    Good evening lurkers

Whoah, that is a lot of vhs! Another thing to not have to worry about down the road :thumb: Good for you for getting out and getting a walk in, Rat2.

Well, if you are working tomorrow, Dale, then I hope it’s not too much and not too little. ;)

Grilled chicken (me) steak (boys) for dinner with roasted sweet potatoes, and some grilled extras (stuffed mushrooms and a stuffed banana pepper) that Dh picked up from the butcher.

They are closing the pool tomorrow and I have some cleaning to do. But a coworker brought in some Steven King novels for me to borrow. Never read King but have seen/enjoyed plenty of his movies. So i’d much rather spend the weekend reading. Fitting since kiddo and I are rewatching old horror movies. We are supposed to finish The Shining this evening.

Was another good day. I bought a bag of chicken that said it was for Fajita's but it was darn good on my salad last night and again tonight. I am going to get that again.

Worked on another closet this afternoon but my heart wasn't in it so I went outside and took a short walk. I stopped as soon as my knee suggested I do so. But it was nice to get back to reading. In fact, I am getting ready to go to bed now and read some more. heehee

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

Got up at 2:40 this morning but that's okay because I fell asleep at 9:40. I must have been tired because I only read half a chapter and I will have to go back and re-read. heehee

Jay did not call last night but that's okay. He said we would do something tonight. Not sure what. and does not really matter to me. I'm pretty easy to please.

Supposed to get up to 70 today and it is going to be gorgeous. I am thinking I will go to WallyWorld this morning. They open at 6 and maybe it will not be crowded. I want to look at bed skirts and maybe a bedspread.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

The kid made it through another surgery. His mom said tomorrow is a minor surgery to see how things are then another major surgery on Thursday.
    (((Hugs))) Joey
‘Sounds like he’ll survive and that’s good. Unfortunately his life will be forever changed :(

I collapsed pretty early last night too with almost the same reading results  Eye blinks were lasting way too long ;)

What does Jay do or is he retired?

We’re going to Buff City Soap to pick up Christmas gifts.

63 this morning going to be up in the 80’s :(

    Good morning everyone

So glad to hear he’s doing well with the surgeries, Joey.

Woot!! Rat2, enjoy your time with Jay ;) I know you will!

Aww have fun Christmas shopping, Dale. Blech, that’s coming quick. Surprisingly I have no desire to think about it. And you know how much I love that time of year.

Guess I won’t be vacuuming the pool one last time, they will be here at 9. Dh/kiddo have haircuts at 10. Maybe I will skip the cleaning this morning and read ;)

    Have a great day!!

‘Reading sounds like the way to go to me ;) That’s what I’ve been doing this morning

Yes I’ve developed a distaste for Christmas too but I have to start early if anyone is going to get anything. That’s one of the reasons I’m working again, things got hard over the summer and DH simply doesn’t make much money. Thank goodness our home and vehicles are paid for.

What does Jay do or is he retired?
Jay is retired but he works part-time for a golf course(he used to compete but now only plays weekly for fun with friends) and he helps out this man that has a landscaping business. There is not much that he cannot fix so he always has something he is tinkering on for someone.

But that, so far, is the only con on his list of many pros. I am not sure he has enough free time to devote to me. heehee I know that sounds selfish but I've been coming in 2nd and 3rd place for most of my life. Do you know the o'l saying about only the lead dog smells victory? Well, I wanna be that dog.

I can't remember if I told you Jay came over and trimmed all the boxwoods on the front and side of my house. I don't want to give y'all a rerun. heehee

Thank goodness our home and vehicles are paid for.
I feel the same way because I am not sure what I would do either. It is going to be hard enough to pay for my insurance now that I am not going to be able to use dad's income to get my insurance free. There is no telling how much that will be. I may end up without insurance until I turn 65 and can get Medicare. I'm going to stop because I am too happy right now to fret over that one.

I had a good visit to WallyWorld although they did not have anything that I went after. But I will say at 6 in the morning, the people that work there are really friendly. I guess they haven't worked long enough to be agitated and snippy.

While I was walking around there, I decided since it was such a pretty and warm weekend that I would make Jay a strawberry shortcake. I hope he likes it. If not, I'm gonna have to reconsider the benefits of this whatever it is. ;)

Guess that is all for now. Later Lurkers!
