    February 28. 7:10am.

1960 was a Leap Year. My Mom told me she wanted me to be born on the 29th. But I simply could not wait another day to make my appearance.

If I would have been born on the 29th I'd only be 15 years old.
Imagine that, 15 years old and vaping!!!
Have the feeling you’re going to be our oldie ;)

Good night SMT, Joey and Sara, hopefully Rat2 is having a good time

Good afternoon Joey, SMT and Classy

Bummer Sara, hope you’re napping ;)

We just finished cleaning up, phew my feet hurt! Kids did great, brought dessert pies, seasoned potatoes , a vegetable medley and green beans. Son smoked our ham and it was juicy good :thumb:
‘Turkey was good for a turkey. I made the dressing, sweet potato casserole and rolls, was a big spread and lots for the kids to take home ;)

We got Kalli a bouncy worm and she’s not tall enough for it yet , I never thought about that  Oh well she’ll grow into it ;) She did seem to like the chatter phone, good old time toy.

    Relaxing time!

Finally got the internet back late this afternoon. 3 days without it and it bothered me. Not sure how I will make it at the coast. Much harder to use the phone for forums. Oh well, it back and I am happy.

I had an absolutely wonderful Christmas dinner with Terry's family. I knew most of them already but everyone was so nice to me. They ate just about all the Buffalo Dip I made which made my day because I am always afraid what I make may not be eaten and it will hurt my feelings. heehee

I was pleasantly surprised that Terry's daughter gave me a gift. A bottle of wine and a candle. That was so sweet of her. I asked Terry why he did not tell me so I could get them a little something and he said he did not know about it. Maybe she likes with her dad. Many people were there, and I sat on the floor between Terry's legs. He sat and rubbed my shoulders in front of everyone but I was okay with that if he was.

I have never seen as much food as they had. Terry bought the 3 types of meat that they had and it was delicious. There were so many sides that I don't think I got to taste all of them. That family loves good food and hugging.

Can you believe Jay (after not hearing from him for so long) sent me a Merry Christmas text? He said he was sorry he had not been in touch and that he was thinking about me. He hoped I had a wonderful Christmas. You know what? I guess I am done. I did not even text him back. Rather rude of me but I did not have anything to say.

Jimmy called me and Derek texted me their Merry Christmas. It was nice to be remembered on a holiday. I even made it down to my aunt's to see my cousin that came into town. I did not go eat with them though. I had eaten so much last night I did not want anything.

I worked most of the day getting all the Christmas stuff put away. Christmas is over and I am ready for the new year. I am not fond of odd numbers but I think 2023 is going to be an awesome year. I hope it is for all of us.

Terry finally told me that we would be leaving Tuesday morning. So I am going to be get packed tomorrow. I am so excited. Hope I will still feel that way when I get back.

He said the weather was warming up this week and we would definitely be taking the boat out. He said it was colder on the water and he was going to bring an extra jacket for me so I would not get cold. I have no real warm stuff. I'm sure I will be fine.

I will not have internet down there or much of anything else. He warned me that he was not taking me to a resort. I am ready for some peace and quiet. I think the population is 312 so I know it is going to be quiet. I am looking forward to it.

I everyone had a lovely Christmas with your families. I thought about all of you.

    Good morning lurkers
Was everyone as tired as I was last night? I resorted to Tylenol P.M.last night because I knew all the aches and pains would keep me fr sleeping well , dodged that bullet!

So glad you had such a wonderful time Rat2, you’ll be sorely missed while you’re gone but I hope you have a great time with Terry at the coast.

    Good morning lurkers

Awww, sounds like you girls had a wonderful Christmas. That makes my heart happy for both of you.

Honestly and selfishly, I would have to say this was the worst Christmas we’ve had. Roller coaster of emotions and I slept like a rock all night. That being said, I am blessed for the 3 of us to be healthy and together.

We were pretty certain that we wouldn’t be celebrating with our immediate family as we headed to bed but there was a small flicker of hope. Waking up, our travel ban was lifted but one was added to my brother’s area. After talking with my mom and SIL, we disappointedly decided to celebrate next weekend.

An hour later SIL lets us know their ban had been lifted and they were h*ll bent on making this happen but instead of doing it in the morning, we’d do it in the afternoon. Foolishly, I agreed. At the time the sun was shining, our road had been plowed and the wind was mostly gone. When it came time to leave the sun was gone and the winds had picked up. 10 minutes from home, we hit some pretty good drifts and one was just too much for us. It pulled us to the shoulder and bam…stuck. Thankfully not IN the ditch but we weren’t going anywhere even with 4 wheel drive. *facepalm*

A guy who lives where we got stuck came over to help Dh get us unstuck. We pretty much made 4 more right turns to get ourselves home. On the way home I called my mom and let her know what happened and that we weren’t going to make it. Dh is going to get a couple gift cards and take them over to him in a few days. Yes, we are a family of idiots sometimes. So glad it wasn’t worse.

Good afternoon Dale, Rat, Sara

Dale, sounds like you had a nice Xmas. Glad the Tylenol PM worked for you.

Rat, happy to hear you had a nice time w/Terry and his fam. Enjoy your trip! Be safe and I hope you have lots of fun!!! :thumb:

Sara, I don't know what to say!!! Maybe this :-x and a dose of this  along with a {{{hug}}}.
I mean, jeepers, *facepalm*, *facepalm*, *facepalm*. Hopefully your family can get together this coming weekend. Or something???

I was pretty tired after a full day. Think I fell asleep around 9ish. Slept good. Woke up, as I normally do, at about 3:45am for the usual morning chores and stuff.

Soooooo......... I'm mostly relaxing for the rest of today.

Bless your heart Sara. I am so glad you got back home safely. That sounds awfully traumatic to me but thank goodness you have your wonderful family to help you through everything. It will just make the time you finally get together, that much more special. Big hug!!!!

    Good afternoon everyone

Thank you for all the love. The most important thing is we are ok and our vehicle is ok.

Sounds like you had a nice holiday too, SMT. Very nice to hear!

We have a busy Saturday coming up. Head south of Buffalo to Dh’s family in the morning and then up north to my family. Won’t have to worry about the snow as it will be 50’s and raining

Just came in from unburying the cars/garbage cans, snow blowing, shoveling, a little bit of a snowball fight and finally a couple of snow angels. Showed kiddo how to run the snowblower, he prefers the shovel

Hope you all are having a lovely day!!

Don't worry dale, it's hard to get rid of rats!

I will be checking in on y'all on my phone and let you know how everything is going. I did not sleep at all last night trying to think about all the things I'm probably going to forget.

I have never traveled much so needless to say, this is freaking me out. I know I packed way more than I needed but I evidently have a fear of getting somewhere and not having what I need. Terry told me not to worry about anything and I could bring whatever and as much as I needed. Said he had lots of room in his truck. I hope he still feels the same way when he sees my stack of stuff at the door.

I think it would have been better for me to know exactly how long we were going to stay. I took extra everything whether I needed it or not. I am sure I will be fine once I get there and quit worrying about anything. I do need some quiet time. heehee

And just so everyone knows. . . I'm the oldest in the group and it does not bother me one bit. I know how hard I have worked for these gray hairs.
