    lol Dale :)

Happy to hear your lamb chops were successful.

I made sweet potatoes to go with the roast. Carrots and onions were in with the roast and dh picked up what will be our last go of corn on the cob. I was surprised how good it was this late in the season.
    That sounds so good!

    Good night Sara

had to ask DH what holiday it was.
Did DH tell you it was Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples' Day? My Google calendar had both. Sheesh! You can tell I'm turning into an o'l fart because I do not like all changes.

Good morning everyone. What a beautiful morning it has been. Ken slept pretty well, meaning I slept pretty well even though I had been sleeping on the floor. I got up early had my coffee, and had my 10,000 steps in before 9. Ken slept in the recliner the first two nights and then graduated to the couch. No complaints here. I have been fine on the floor. The hardest part is wearing pajamas to sleep in.

I thought we were going to be leaving today to go to Waverly, TN. That is what he said last night when I asked if I would be sleeping in a bed tonight. This morning he told his daughter we would be staying another night. It should be a good thing that I am being exposed to being flexible but for some reason, the transformation is rather difficult for me. Time will tell. I am handling it as well as I can.

Got out yesterday afternoon (it was beautiful) and weeded and decorated a flower bed in front of the house at the mailbox. I enjoyed that because I have been needing to get out of the house for something other than walking. It ended up looking nice. It had the skeleton head and hands coming out of the dirt in a big pot and of course, spider webs and spiders. Pretty purple and black flowers also. I think she enjoyed someone helping her and maybe even having another female around.

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I didn’t realize you were still in Tennessee and sleeping on the floor!

    Good evening lurkers

Aww Dale, I’m sorry you missed her game. One more for kiddo on Friday. Tonight’s was a tie after 2 overtimes……in.the.POORING.rain  I was soaked through 3 layers on the bottom. My coat and umbrella worked well for the top half. Couldn’t feel my toes/fingers and they were layered up too.

 I have to work hard to get 10,000 steps for the whole day and you’ve got it before 9 am  Hopefully you get to sleep in the bed soon.

Dinner was pizza/chicken fingers for the boys. I had a greek yogurt with chia seeds, one lonely chicken finger and 20 black olives. I’m trying to increase my own iron levels as they were a wee low but not enough to require the iron pill. Dr wanted me to take a multivitamin but I’m hoping to get it from foods, which is difficult since I’m not a huge meat/fish fan.

Heading upstairs, hopefully the bed is toasty. Started using the electric blanket again. House is at 64 degrees. Brrr! Sweet dreams

Oh that’s awful Sara! Bela plays volleyball so it’s indoors but their season is over :(

Cooking food in a cast iron skillet could help your iron intake also.

I hope you have a warm and restful night

I believe that about the cast iron skillet. After I was turned down several times because of my iron level at the Red Cross, one of the nurses who worked there told me that is what I should do and it would do the trick. I never really tested it out. I did not find the cast iron skillet until about six months ago. I think I should get it out and season it again. I still think my iron is low.

I do not watch horror movies but evidently Ken likes them. I have heard about The Shining with Jack Nicholson before but I have never seen it. That is what we are watching now. I hope I can sleep tonight. heehee It might not scare me. We'll see. I am more of a comedy and romance kinda of gal.

They wanted KFC for supper. I wanted a salad so Ken's daughter said there was a place that had a strawberry salad so we both got that. It had grilled chicken on top and was very good but rather expensive. I told her I wanted to buy her supper and it was $25. But it was good and we both enjoyed it.

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a wonderful day.

    Good morning lurkers

Now you have next season to look forward to, Dale :) Hope hers was a good one!

We don’t have an old fashioned cast iron. Ours is an enameled cast iron. I don’t think it works the same. But it sure does cook well. I’ve found a few foods that I like that I will add to my diet. Pumpkin seeds, black olives, almonds, chick peas, cashews, macadamias, oatmeal. There are a few more but I’m forgetting what they are. Lol too early.

Ooof, The Shining is a scary one for sure. One of my favorites. But I like Steven King. Kiddo thought it was boring but like The Exorcist, which I found boring. So what did you think? Did you make it through the whole thing?

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning Sara and Rat2

Oh wow Rat2, I wouldn’t be able to walk straight after sleeping in the floor for so many nights.

Ah no Sara I don’t believe enameled cast iron would work :(

I hope Bela plays next year, she already has a reputation for being one of their better servers.

I actually like the movie. It is almost crazy how well Jack Nicholson can play crazy. I did not really think of it as scary. Kinda eerie in a way. I guess I was expecting more gore or something. They asked me if I had been living under a rock when they found out I had not seen The Exorcist. They really would make fun of me if I told them I had only seen The Wizard of Oz up until the flying monkeys on the yellow brick road.

All I can say is at the time. . . I thought it was a nice rock.

All I can say is I am glad it is not raining or I would be in need of a wheelchair. Ken tried to get me to sleep on the couch but of course, I couldn't. He needed to be as comfortable as possible. He has not been taking the strong pain meds the doctor gave him. Not sure if he is that much better or he thinks he better save them for rough times.

I have had so many procedures done and each time I got the pain meds filled just to have them on hand if I needed them. But I hate taking stuff like that so I have a bunch of expired medication now. When I clean out the cabinet, I need to bag it up and take it to the drug store for them to dispose of properly.

Needless to say, I can't wait to go to bed tonight.

We will be leaving after we get our showers. It is another 3 1/2 hour drive to get to where Ken lives. That is so weird to think a state is that long. I am still on my first cuppa Joe and I am in no hurry to get moving yet.

I prefer taking showers at night before I go to bed. Most everyone says the shower wakes them up. Not me. It makes me want to jump back in bed.
