Like your coffee strong eh.

If you put a spoon in my coffee and it doesn't immediately dissolve, it's tea. Yes, I like my coffee corrosively strong. I had an uncle who spent quite a few years in Brazil. Afterwards, his coffee mirrored what he drank there. I was a young lad of 17 when I had a cup of his coffee and I've drank it like that ever since. And no, I do not dilute it with mundane things like sugar or cream.

Good morning Lurkers! It's been a good while since I posted here. True to the thread name, I've been a pure Lurker of late.

Congrats on retiring Dale! LOL, my usual retired wake-up time is between 4-5am. I prefer early, always have. It's nice and quiet when I go for my morning walks. Just me, nature and the early critters!

Snow? Like Sara, we've gotten some, but it's melted by afternoon. But..... good news. with colder temps arriving the snow should start to accumulate. Then time for the snowmobile and some cross-country skiing.

Hey Rat, Hey Joey!!!

Weather? Was 26° this morning, 37° now. A few days ago it was in the teens.

Ret1....... I had a 'coffee' grandpa who taught me 'proper' strength coffee brewing. From him I learned the fine art of "Coffee: Passing Muster". The basic version goes like so:

Strong as all "get up and go", or stronger ---> hell yes. Weak coffee, as many mortals brew (LOL), simply does not meet the minimum requirement.

It's scent generally (usually!) indicates quality, and to varying degrees, strength. Canned Folgers, need not apply!

Adding milk, cream, sugar or anything else ---> sacrilege.
(IOW... Total Epic Fail)

It best be BLACK.

When looking into a proper cup of blackness ---> one should clearly see one's reflection. (This indicates one is in possession of true Magical Elixir.)

LOL

This mornings coffee, Peet's Major Dickason's Blend (dark roast).

I did note your previous post about Black Rifle coffee, and made a note to try some. I've been a 40 year Peet's direct customer. But, I am always open to trying others strong coffee suggestions.

LOL, I do enjoy a daily cup of quality Black Tea. Typical black tea = ~50mg caffeine p/cup whereas a coffee will range between 90mg-200mg p/cup.

Naturally, immediate spoon dissolution happens at 200mg.
YMMV

Mornin' y'all. Getting a lot done this morning. Went and got my flu and covid shot and picked up a couple of tupperware bins to get some stuff stored away. Supposed to be a warm one today with a high of 86. If this keeps up, we're going to have to fire up the freaking AC again. Generally I love the fall as the electric bills plummet due to us not having to fire up the AC all the time. Might have to crank it up today.

    Good morning retired :)
We’ve been using both a/c and heat but rarely both on the same day, our electric bill has dropped quite a bit already.

Good morning/afternoon Dale, Retired and lurkers :)

Snow is gone and we are currently in the middle of a nasty thunderstorm. Gotta love WNY weather.

SMT, even though I despise the snow, I wouldn't mind trying snow shoeing. Love the coffee brewing wisdom, even though Folger's is in the fridge this week.

Feeling any better, Dale? Glad you had a nice time with dinner and games.
