...sorry, didn't exactly finish that...he goes to Yes Bay Lodge, Ketchikan, AK.
Oh, LOVE THAT!!!
Just curious because my nephew is a professional (captain) fishing guide, is that a good area for that??
He's beginning to look at other places to move if need be. Year before last where he's at on Chokoloskee Island, FL., they had a season ending algae bloom that just killed the fishing tourism there.
He goes to a fly in lodge (Yes Bay Lodge) May through Sept., but like I said, he's been just kind of starting to look around different parts of the US. Colorado was one of the states he mentioned.
He really loves FL, so I'm not sure how serious he is about moving, but I thought I'd ask.
Do you offer eco-tours at the campground?? That's what he does too, along with the fishing.
Sounds great. I might send him those names. I think he's just only at a point that he's just starting to think about it. But at least the more names/areas of the country, the better.Hate to hear about the season ending algae :/ We don't do any of the eco-tours out of our campground, only train our staff to provide recommendations for companies that offer the fishing guide services. There are several guide companies whether they go by boat or hike into the rivers/streams in our area. Ice fishing too for that matter, all winter. Scenic River Tours offers the eco-tours and Sport Fish Colorado would be a great company, or Gene Taylor's Sporting Goods, to chat with to get the lay of the area for that kind of job. They use boats here at the lake & a couple of other locations around CO.

@BluebirdGal - any lake pics you'd like to share?
I bet it's just beautiful there.
...you have a dream job in my opinion. I loved to camp as a kid, my DH...not so much.
He loves the outdoors, and all the outdoor activities, he'd just rather have a nice hotel to go back to at night.
His parents took them camping all over the US, from S. Florida to Yellowstone, to N. England, to Canada...so he's definitely got that t-shirt, just no desire to revisit the camping part.![]()

Yes, we are always on site but last year we purchased some friends of ours' little park model home they told us they were selling. After accepting the job to manage the place for the owners 2yrs ago, that did mean we would need to live onsite or in town. This is the only park model in the park that was on a seperate well system, so it was a complete stroke of luck to acquire it when we did. We have been working here since 2013. Felt like the Taj Mahal after living in an RV for 5+yrs. Of course it took several serious mods to be winter liveable but we got it all done long before the first snow flew.

The campground is predominately return seasonal customers. Some have been coming here as long as the campground has been in existence since the 60s. And we have made some really good friends here. Most of them are here to fish (we have the largest lake in Colorado just 3mi up the road). And of course the tons of rivers and streams are teeming with rainbow and cutthroat, and our lake even has kokanee salmon. The area overall is an ATV/quad/mountain bike paradise right out of our entrance so it is all ridiculously busy from Memorial Day to about Labor Day.
And we still have our RV so we can still travel when we bore ourselves riding smowmobiles or dog sledding in the winter months.![]()
Lot's of places around here have cabins you can rent for float trips or just sit by the rivers![]()
That's funny. The DH and I had never even tent camped before we dove all in with a 40'rWe did research it all for a year before making the leap.
There is no way to capture how pretty Blue Mesa Reservoir is in every season, but here are a couple as we were coming in from Utah in April this year. It is a gorgeous lake.

I won't forget to pick it up, but stupid me forgot to add the most important thing to the order...COFFEE!!!Good morning Angel
Now don't forget to pick up your order![]()
...I don't know how I did that...must have been the lack of coffee in my system. I was leery to let them pick out the produce at first, but then I decided to one time, and they really did a great job, so I don't worry about it now.Good morning Angel.
How is the produce when you order that way? Do they pick out nice fruits/veggies, or do you get the banged, bruised stuff?
You have a great day too, and I hope it goes quickly for you!!
That sounds just amazing...I agree with Lori, sounds like a dream job to me too!Yes, we are always on site but last year we purchased some friends of ours' little park model home they told us they were selling.
