Good morning Lurkers.

Have a good day Paul! :)

Glad you took the day Sara! Take lots of breaks Sara!!

Fran, I too hope you're hunkered down and don't have to go out!! :nun:
That's a lot of snow predicted!! :(

Bye Angel, hope your day isn't another Monday, and that it flies!!

I have a lot I want to get done today, so if I'm not around, you know I'm sticking to my to-do list.
I'll pop in on breaks though. ;)
First up will be another cuppa, and then breakfast...not quite human or ready to move just yet.

Good morning, Lori

Brrr, it sure is cold out there. We are taking breaks. There isn't too much out there now, couple of inches. We could just wait and use the snowblower, but I thought it would be good to get out.

Hope you get everything you want to get done today :)
Sounds like some areas aren't going to get quite as much as they thought, which is GOOD.
Still sounds like it's going to be crappy though, and some places, even if they back off 8 or so inches, they're still going to end up with quite a lot.

I took the day too ;)

Fran, sorry you are getting the snow too. Hopefully it won't be as bad as predicted. So far it's not as bad but not great. The governor has declared a state of emergency for the whole state.
Good morning Sara
Yow!! Glad you decided to stay home today!
Good morning lovely lurkers.

Stay warm and safe Fran and Sara...glad you took the snow day Sara.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Good morning Angel  Hope today treats you better ;)

Good morning Lurkers :)

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

    1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

    2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

    3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

    4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans...

    5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

    CONCLUSION:
Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Me either....so far, not going as planned.
I *do* have one load of bedding in the washer, still not dressed...almost an hour on the phone with my brother., and 40 minutes with my sister.
    (...this too shall pass) :nun:

    Good morning lurkers:wub::wub::wub:

Getting a slow start here this morning, both of us didn't get up till 9! Sis and her family are here, staying in the hotel in town... we have run for 2 days straight now... today they are going to the zoo... we are skipping that and will meet them for supper at 5.:D

I didn't mean to dramatize that...two broken arms in the BIG scheme of things is nothing, compared to what some are dealing with.
No drama there! I broke one arm and had a cup and plate put in it. They casted it straight out. You can't cut your own food, zip your own pants, put in a pony tail, zip your own coat... pretty much you can't do a darn thing with one arm like that, now multiply that by 2! I will continue to pray for her, she will need it!:nun:

It's funny you say that because when I was pregnant with my oldest, all I wanted was those beef n cheddars. What's so funny is that when he grew up, he ended up being the general manager at Arby's. I told him he was destined for it! :p:lol:
When I was carrying Clay I ate cherries like they were required for life, could go to the store and get 2 pounds and only have 1 3/4s by the time I got to the register! Couldn't eat meat, it came right back up. That boy will NOT touch anything that has cherries in it, he detests them! He loves meat, he will eat a meal that has nothing else but meat and is totally happy with it! Like our own OBG, doesn't matter the weather, he's out at the smoker fixing every kind of meat he can fit in it!:D

    Bwahahaha, OBG.

Sorry you've been stuck on the phone most of the morning, Lori. Good news is you've got all afternoon :p ::ducking, in case you throw something at me::

The driveway is done and I've got my exercise for the week out of the way  Time for lunch.
Thanks. No, I won't throw anything.
Shoveling snow is DEFINITELY a work out!!:nah:

I remembered another site I always liked when I was in the healthier eating mode.
I'm sure you've been there before, or seen their articles, but here's one I was just looking at, and there's some good looking ones in this article...some that look gross too, but we all like different things.
The more you can keep things interesting and keep from getting tired of the same foods, the better.

I remember you talking about that!! Weren't you in the UK??

Well, her daughter just called, and they just met with the orthopedic doctor/surgeon.
Both breaks are at the "head" of the radius. Not sure the correct terminology. But just by the elbow.
Her left has separation, the right arm is a hairline fracture, no separation.
He said that her left arm is actually aligned, so he wants to wait 2 weeks and x-ray her again to see if it's healing well enough, or if it needs a screw.
He gave her motion exercises to keep the elbows from getting locked. He really doesn't want to have to cast the elbow if he doesn't have to.
Of course, she has all sorts of restrictions. She can lift no more than a coffee cup with the right arm, nothing with the left.
She can take tylenol (only), and he told her to up her Vit. D, can't remember the dosage.
He said she's definitely not out of the woods, as far as not having to have surgery, but he thinks that if she doesn't overdo, that she should heal nicely without surgical intervention.

Honestly, with all the staff infections going through these hospitals, I'd rather not have to have surgery if possible.:2c::2c:
