Oh no!! So sorry about your niece Haunted :( Hope and pray they find the problem soon and get her fixed right up!!

Hi Angel

Hi Joey

Just a note ... if you order vapor products from GearBest expect to pay tax and duties on your order sometime after delivery.
Just got a bill myself for that eleaf Aster mod I "won" some time ago

I won't be entering anymore contests on ECF with china sponsors
Have you had to pay tax or duties before for things from China?

Nope, this is brand new ... courtesy of the good ole FDA

Technically, it's been in effect for ages and has nothing to do with the FDA. From what I can dig up through CBP and the Trade Commission, there's a 2.6% duty on e-cigarettes coming into the country. And depending on the state, they may nail you for a state tax along with it.

Edit -- Still digging to find the actual document that details the class and actual duty. e-liquids are dinged at 6.5%!!!

    Interesting :?:
Guess it was just a big coincidence the timing and all for my first charge ;)

Paying the bill is not a big deal but it sure will make me think twice in the future.

Oh, P.S. ... that little mod goes for about 24.95 and the FedEx bill was 20.23

Check the receipt. I wager they nailed you for a brokerage fee, too. That's what they do up here.
    Oh MY GOSH!!!
You are so correct!! 20 bucks for brokerage ancillary service fees, 0.23 for duties, tax, customs, other fees. o_O

Whatever the heck Brokerage Ancillary Service Fees are

We get nailed with brokerage fees with the companies we do business with (at work) in Canada.

Yep. It's a huge freaking scam. UPS does it, too.

Basically, they charged you 20 bucks to act as Uncle Sam's stooge to collect 23 cents.

    Hi Lori!
It was good and bad. Beautiful weather and some nice scooting! My niece is in intensive care for the last 6 says and they are trying to figure out what is wrong with her. It's something in the digestive tract. This poor kids is only 22 and been most bedridden with the most hideous migraines imaginable for the last 6 years and now has to deal with this. Remember her in your prayers for healing if you think of it.

    Yours too!

    Hi Rachel and Lynn!

Bless her heart! Sending prayers for your niece HM[emoji120]

If they've not been in rotation daily, being drained and charged repeatedly, they're not as aged as you think.:2c:
There was a really good article about that on the Battery University.
If you see shortened life of the charge, or your battery no longer fully charges, then it's time to be replacing them.

This is good to know! I need to go read battery university. Aside from electronics where you aren't replacing batteries, I'm used to the simplicity of Duracell and Energizer.

Have you read the Mooch Blogs, those are good too.

The thing about what I posted is this...you need to be familiar enough with your batteries to *know* when you're not getting the proper amount of life out of them.
The 3 year, rule of thumb, is an extra precaution if you don't keep track of that stuff.

Kind of like when your cell phone battery gets old and you are forever constantly charging it.

I have not, but I will. I have a lot to learn in every area of vaping. I can tell when my ego is about to die. I have two in rotation. One will get me through the whole day. When I get home from work I put the almost dead on on the charger and it's done before I go to bed. I know not to use it, or batteries without letting them rest. Also to marry batteries for life. But I don't have anything that requires two batteries. I have all the batteries in plastic cases. And I've only ever ordered them from Provape. Although, I did order two from LV for the coil master tab I bought from them just recently.

What I really need is some time to play around with all this stuff I bought. Rather, I need to make the time. Lol
