We had a great neighborhood in Oklahoma...lived on the corner of a cul-de-sac and lots of kids around.
Had a blast playing kick the can till parents started calling in the kids for the night.
As we got older it was a way for the bigger kids to get away from the little ones (tattle tails) and smoke.

We used to say olly olly outs in free when playing hide and seek...meaning that all that were still out hiding could come in free...that the searcher has given up

We had a great neighborhood too...but we moved to the country when I was 10.
We always called out "come out, come out, wherever you are".
My mom tried to explain the olly, olly...but I think we all thought it was a weird adult thing.
