I actually have one of those too...but shhhhhh, don't tell the BF or he might actually expect me to use it!
I will still pull it out for simple window treatments.
I refuse to pay the $$ they want for the quality that's offered. :)
Plus, I can get pretty much exactly what I want that way...usually for a lot less if I can stay away from the decorator fabric shop.

I haven't sewn anything since home ec in middle school lol and that was using a sewing machine.

Hope your meatloaf is super good. :)
I just meant it isn't all that bad priced if you only have a pair or two to do. It can be a fussy job if you aren't set up to do it, and sometimes when you are!;)

This is soooo true.
My mom used to be my "go to" helper (pinner) for hems.

No more sewing than I do it's just easier for me to do it by hand. I've certainly hemmed my share of pants tho', one of the less pleasant aspects of being short
Thankfully hemlines are all over the place now, and petites are easier to find than they were years ago. :)

And what a relief that has been!!! :thumb:
AMEN and AMEN!!! :nun:
I used to do slacks by hand though, I didn't ever really master the hem foot.

I did have one pair of jeans hemmed by the dry cleaners once. They did a FABULOUS job too!!
I didn't want to do it, I've done it once before, a long time ago, it was worth the $12 or $15 that they charged.
Plus, my machine is a nice one, but it's not a heavy duty machine, blue jeans are hard on gears, and mine thankfully is an older Singer that still has metal gears.
I had tension problems with it several years ago and took it in for repairs.
I told the woman that I was debating getting it fixed or getting a new or new used one, she emphatically said NO get it fixed, this is still a better machine that most on the market anymore. (in that type, discounting commercial ones, etc.) So, I did, and it runs like new....when I used it last.

Oh my!!! It's almost 8 here! I'd be starved too!
Oh shoot, I've had to get used to eating late when I'm here...8 or even 9 is normal time for them...drives me up the wall sometimes...have to adjust my eating schedule while I'm here...guess that's why I sleep so late here. ;)
