Good evening everyone. Hope everyone had a nice day.

The rain has finally come and I assume it will change over to snow at some point. :(

We had raviolis, chef salad and homemade garlic bread for dinner. Dale, what kind of cheese do you use in your homemade mac and cheese? I'm always looking for something different. I usually just do sharp cheddar.

Imma go-straight-home-after-work kinda girl too. I detest stopping for anything after work (even kiddo ;) when DH is out of town ) But I know, sometimes ya have to. :nah:

Oh, it's really easy! Just as easy as opening that box ;)

    Good evening dear Haunted
Did you get that nice week you were hoping for? :?: How was it? :)

Hi Dale  It's a dull week. At least it's stress free. Are you enjoying yours?

I use many different cheeses in my Mac and Cheese. Main one is Velveeta but also Cheddar and American I usually use 3-4 pounds of cheeses. Top it with a thin layer of bread crumbs and Parmesan or Romano is always the finishing touch!

Yum!! Those sound really good. Do you shred your own cheddar or buy it already shredded. The last couple of times I made it, I cheated and used the shredded and it didn't taste much like cheddar.

Yes I shred the cheddar and I also grate the Parmesan or Romano because I like it in like tiny shreds and not powdered. I think the cheeses smell better when they are freshly grated.

Guess, I won't be cheating next time. ;)

Sweet dreams Fran. Stay warm.

Good evening lovely lurkers....Today wasn't too bad...boss had a city council meeting so she was only in during the morning, which allowed me to work more with the girl that's leaving. But the next 2 days will be super busy getting payroll out...and I have to take my lunch break tomorrow to go to my old office because apparently I'm an idiot and forgot my notary stamp there...kind of need it now, so have to make the drive to pick it up.

I too despise having to stop anywhere after work, but unfortunately for me, it's a necessary evil as I have no other time I can do the grocery shopping...luckily Wally World is less than a mile from work, so it's not far and I can get in and out pretty quick at the Marketplace...still wish I could avoid going altogether. :glare:

I love homemade mac and cheese...I usually make it for Christmas...not sure if I'm going to this year or not, but since my son will be home from college and I'll have at least 2 of my kids here, I might.

Oh no, that stinks having to drive to your old office. Hope it's not too bad of a drive. Fingers crossed the next two days go quickly and smoothly.

Glad to hear Walmart is close! Maybe we should try going after work someday. I wonder if it would be less crazy than on Sunday after church ;)

    Mac&Cheese for Christmas!! Yay!!

Just because I do it that way doesn't mean you have to because I won't be making my own dumplings or pasta like some of you folks do!

I'm thinking there is something different about using the bagged shredded. If I did the prep work myself, maybe it would taste less like the roux.

Hi Sara, you're sounding like yourself again! :)

I use velveeta and canned condensed milk with a little dab of corn starch to thicken, this is a stove top dish, not baked.

It's amazing what a good nights sleep will do for a person. ;) hoping for another good one tonight.

Stove top sounds easier/quicker, especially for a school night. :thumb:

Well it'll be about 60 miles round trip to go over there, but at least I won't have to see the old boss...she claims she has court, but she used to always claim that when she didn't want to have to deal with someone...fine by me because I don't time for her anyway.

I don't know about Walmart being less crazy after work, but at least the Marketplace where I go doesn't seem to attract all the crazies and since it's just the grocery store part, not as many people...that's why I prefer to go there. ;)

Yeah I could send him, but no telling what he'd come home with...if I just need one or two things I usually do send him...I just really need to remember to place my order online and then I or even the boy can just go pick it up when it's ready....if only I can remember to do it before I need it.

Ok, so now I'm yawning, thinking about snuggling in my nice warm bed. Sweet dreams everyone.
Good night and sweet dreams Sara.
