That stinks. I'm sorry. Sometimes shopping is the pits. Well most of the time :( We had a hard time shopping for my mom last week. Usually end up with several outfits. Definitely not this year.
I was looking online, must be something about that particular size

Aw, my mom was one of my easiest to do :) Dad not so much

We got lucky for dad this year, he mentioned he wanted a bow. Dick's Sporting Goods had them on Black Friday for a good price, so mom, brother and I went in on it. I can't wait to see his face.

Clothes wise, I never find what I want in the size I want. If I'm shopping for kiddo, nothing in his size but I find tons of things for me. If I'm shopping for DH, nothing in his size but tons for kiddo. o_O

Oh wow, a bow is a nice gift! :thumb:
Dads RA is too severe for him to do any of the hobby things he used to do :( He used to do the nicest wood and leather work.

You're right about the clothes, and when you want something specific you can't find it even though whatever it is was all over the place until you needed it o_O

That is so neat and sad that he is unable to do it anymore. I wish I could work with my hands. To be able to make things with your hands is just amazing.

    I know :(
And it would help pass the time for him too, but alas it's not to be.

    Good morning all :)

Cancelled going to water therapy this morning since I didn't think it a good idea to be driving there in whiteouts !!! Fortunately its calmed down outside right now and the sun is shinning:) Unfortunately its just another calm before the next snow event scheduled to start about 1 pm. :(

Sorry to hear so many of us are dealing with this extreme cold brrrrrrrrrr Didn't bother me so much when I was younger but now I hate it !!!!!

    Amazing isn't it?!

Uggghhhh! Went to J.C.Penny's, Dillard's and Sears looking for clothes for Bela from dad ... came home with ONE shirt o_O
Ugh. Sorry you're having such a time. :(
    I absolutely detest shopping!!

Had a really good Dr. appt. :)
My blood work came in all good, and my BP was 119/79.
I told him about my Teeter purchase, and he was really interested, asked several questions, and thought it was great that it's helping.
He agreed that chronic back pain can be miserable, and he said it can negatively affect so many other aspects of your life.

Made a mega trip through the grocery store.
Picked a good week to do it too! They're having month long specials, with different things offered each week. This week it was $20 off your purchase of $75 or more. S C O R E

...and took a decent nap this afternoon too!! (insert 2 bananas!! )

I'm sooooooo ready for spring. :(. Won't complain though, I've yet to see a solitary flake of snow. ;)

Yay! For a good Dr.'s visit and that's an awesome deal on your groceries. :thumb:

Dale!! Not good to not eat all day! Enjoy dinner when it gets there. :)

So, how much snow do you guys average in the winter time?

Last year we didn't get much which is unusual. Kiddo had not one snow day. The previous year we had quite a bit and the polar vortex. Kiddo had snow days for the cold temps. I remember I had to learn how to use the monster of a snowblower because DH was out of town. This thing is tall and wide, I've nicknamed it the beast.

I know but it was so late when I got back home I decided to just wait;)
    Subways were great!!

Most years we don't get any snow at all, every once in a while we'll get a goodly amount.... nothing like you northerners though!

I was glad too, but I didn't anticipate any issues. :)
Yep, I hopefully won't need anything but maybe milk or bread until after the first of the year. :nun:

Yeah, I was a happy camper on both counts. :)
Had to Google the snowfall...I just used St. Louis, it's the closest large city to us.
I'd pretty much agree. Some years more, some less, but 15 for an average is prob right.

St. Louis, Missouri, gets 43 inches of rain per year. The US average is 39. Snowfall is 15 inches. The average US city gets 26 inches of snow per year.

  I typed this up, the phone rang, and I forgot to post it.

...heading to get my shower. ;)

    Good evening lovely lurkers.

We had a very nice lunch today...I'm still stuffed from it actually...and was nice to go to a restaurant I'd never go to myself because there's no way I'd pay that much...and the boss ended up feeling guilty and decided to invite the intern after all...she ended up begging off though, saying she needed to study...so boss got to feel better and we didn't have to put up with her. :p...Even ended up getting a small Christmas bonus, even though I'm only in my third week there...certainly wasn't expecting that. :D

Lori, so glad you got good numbers at your doctor visit today.

We rarely ever get snow here...maybe a dusting once every 10 years...here's the last time we had our dusting back in January 2014...nothing like you guys get, but it certainly had us freezing down here and shut everything down for 2 days due to all the ice on the roads.

Wow!! I sure would be happy with an average of 15 inches a year. Bet Grandmato would be also, oh wait...she goes to FL for winter. Darn those snow birds. (Just kidding Grandmato)

Have a great evening everyone! I'm gonna head to bed, it's going to be a long day tomorrow. I fear it may have just gotten longer for me. Kiddo was complaining of a sore throat when he got home from school. Fingers crossed its not strep, in which case he has to stay home and I can kiss wrapping santa presents goodbye until he goes to bed. :(

He has no fever and still sneezing/coughing/runny nose which Google tells me doesn't usually accompany strep. I finally found my flashlight AFTER he was asleep to check for white spots. :?::blink: And of course do you think I remembered there's a flashlight on my phone. Hoo boy!

thats awesome you had a great lunch. And wow! I did not know it snowed down there. Course, your the first person I "know" who lives there. Lol. I can see where it can cripple an area not equipped to deal with snow.

    Sweet dreams. :)
