Good afternoon all my lovely lurkers.

Got a late start on doing absolutely nothing for the weekend...we had to go get one of my tires repaired...it had a slow leak that I had to keep airing up every few days this week, and so we took it today to a guy the bf uses and turns out there was a small nail in it...got it repaired and good to go again.

It's another beautiful sunny day here and the humidity is low, so it's very pleasant out...have storms moving in tomorrow night though...probably right as I'm heading home knowing my luck.

As for my hollywood hottie, I've always been partial to Sam Elliot and Tom Selleck...but I l also love Kurt Russell and as Kevin Costner gets older he's made the list too...guess I just like older, more rugged guys...never been a fan of the pretty boy myself. :D
Glad you got it fixed!
Now, on to doing NOTHING!!:lol::lol:

Afternoon, all! Just a quick fly by. Had to go to Schulenburg for some things, and ended up stopping in at their sausage festival...a big thing in a predominantly Czech and German area that this is. Then off to LaGrange to Wally World for some groceries, got home a few ago and went out to do some more work on the out building. Heading out there again. Can't do it tomorrow as we have severe thunderstorms moving in all day tomorrow.

Busy day! Hope you had a nice time at the festival. Stay safe in the storms.

Thanks...I'm well on my way with that...have a nice big frozen daiquiri to help out too! :p:D

Glad you were able to get the tire fixed and not have to get a whole new tire. Sam Elliot. :D

Ohh looking good, even without the tail ;)

Kiddo hit the floor hard today in floor hockey  landed on his knee. Iced it and he made it to the car and into the house. After being on the couch, he refused to put weight on it, so we called the dr. Motrin and more ice, he seems to be doing better. It's a little swollen, dr said if it gets worse to call him tomorrow. Sheesh.

I made Parmesan Crusted pork chops for dinner with roasted veggies and acorn squash. They were delicious and I'm not a chop fan. Then I made some coconut muffins using Greek coconut yogurt. Wow, they were good. Also tried a pb banana chocolate smoothie. It was so so.

Hope you all had a good day :)

Sorry about your little one. :( Hope he's better tomorrow.
I don't know if he, or any of the others have been hurt before, but I'll tell you about what happened to DH's nephew.
He played ice hockey, up in Michigan, has since squirt's, or pee wee, but since he was old enough to play.
He's played every year, and the last couple years, on a traveling team too.
Well, last season, near the end of the season, he got hurt, can't remember if it was just his arm that was broken, or a messed up shoulder with that.
I don't know if it was a bad hit, or if he took the hit wrong, but he ended up going out on a stretcher, to the hospital, admitted, and then surgery.
I'm thinking he's 11 or 12.
Well, he was out for the rest of last season, and this year when it started back up, during tryouts, (or whatever they do at that age) he got hit, and it made his shoulder hurt again. He didn't go back the next night, and said he didn't want to play this year, he'd see how he felt next year.
I feel bad, because this kid absolutely LIVED for hockey...any kind.
Was a HUGE Redwings fan, he'd written letters to players, got little stuff back from them, etc.
But him getting seriously hurt really has scared him. (Seriously hurt in the eyes of a 12 year old.)
He's not a whiney type of a kid...but not a bully/hard nosed type either.
Sad thing is, he was really good for his age. :(

Anyway, not sure how your son will react to it, but just a heads up in case. :)

Your dinner and dessert sound wonderful!!!
I've made the pb/banana "ice cream", I loved it, but you must pretty much love bananas I think. :)

Animal Adventure Park Giraffe Cam - YouTube

That's the you tube link to April the Giraffe.
Right now there is a person in there cleaning up her enclosure.
WOW, it's easy to forget how BIG they are until a person is in there for comparison.

Oh no, poor kid. I hope he is ok either to play or not next year. :( sports are scary. We started kiddo in soccer just before he turned 3. It was more for an activity and to get him playing with other kids because he's an only child.

The group that we do most of the sports with start out as parent/child learning (age 3/4) and as they get older it's just kids. They do drills for half the session and then a game the last half. The coaches said he should try floor hockey so we did (same concept..parent/child etc). Next came Flag football. They are 7 week sessions for each sport. Fall/winter in the gym, spring/summer outdoors. Now it's mostly to keep him active, especially during the winter. We talked about the possibility of moving him to a league of some sort because after this year he will be too old for the soccer.

Ooooh, I pinned a pb banana "ice cream". Is it really good? We love bananas here. But I hear it's not really like ice cream just like mashed cauliflower isn't mashed potatoes. So I was hesitant.

Good evening, I'm home :D

You bugger! I'm starving!

Sorry about your son Sara:( Hope it doesn't amount to much.

Glad you got it OBG :)
Thank you, Dale. He survived the stairs on his way to bed, so I'm thinking he will be just fine. Pheww! Part of me wonders if he was "milking it" so to speak. Because after we chatted with the dr and the possibility of going to the ER, he seemed to concentrate on putting more weight on it and getting around. o_O

Hope you had a good afternoon :)

I thought it was really good. Just make sure you slice the bananas very thin, and freeze them on a plate.
I used my blender, it worked out fine. No lumps. YMMV.
I think I made it the first time in a food processor, so don't burn up your blender if it lags. :2c:

Awesome!! I will definitely be trying this. I love my ice cream and this might just do the trick and be slightly healthier. :)

It was good. There was broccoli too, but it wasn't on the table, or the plate yet.
