Um, I'd try #2.
I like Fig Newtons. But don't know that I've had them any other way.

Oh my golly! I love figs and even planted a fig tree once but it didn't make it! Thanks for the figs Dale
Yea, Chili loves figs!! Hiya Chili.

Lols! I'm glad someone does :D
:lol::lol::lol:

Good evening lurkers

While desserts look delicious, not a fig fan, Chili you can have all mine ;)

Oh geez, was reading too fast. I swear, first I missed the decorative concrete wall/100+ degree heat and somehow, I thought I'd read your DH had fixed the power.

Missed you guys too. (((Hugs))) Was definitely a busy weekend, think I need another to recover. Either that or I'm coming down with something. I'm completely wiped out, was in bed early the last three nights (who goes to bed early, when you don't have to work the next day )

Eww, sorry for the rain and storms. Glad to hear princess had a good time. Now that you are princess less, your vacations has officially begun  great news on ac too!!

I can barely keep my eyes open, so with that, I'm gonna say sweet dreams lurkers.
That's okay, I sometimes don't realize that I've skimmed too fast and do the same darn thing. ;)
Hope you're not getting sick!!
Sweet dream Sara.
...oh, and how about our Svc. Mgr. and his wife just got back from your area. They stayed in that little town that got hit by the tornado on Thurs.
They went to Niagra Falls, through Pennsylvania, and around. Loved it!!

Late getting here, I've been watching Cicada Killers that are ALL over a tree on the other side of our fence.
I'm 99.9% sure that's what they are.
DH mentioned that there were a bunch of bees or something flying around the tree.
I went and got the binoculars to look for a hornet's nest, but I don't see one.
They aren't flying *to* anything in the tree, they're flying all around the tree, close to the leaves, weaving in and out like they're looking for something.
Cicadas are all out, I can hear them, and we had two dead ones in the driveway today, so again, fairly certain that's what they are...*shiver*.

Growing up, we called them locusts.
Here's Google images link for them, there are several variations in colors, maybe as they go through the stages of life, or different kinds of cicadas.

    Sweet dreams Dale.

    Sorry, late getting back here.

Good morning, Retired! And good morning to all the lurkers when you all are up and about.

This weekend sure turned sour in a hurry. I was out doing some things when I saw a flood of water on the east side of my house outside. I quickly went to the west side and sure enough, my water supply that I had repaired ruptured again! I started excavating and it was definitely bad. So I dug up 50' of water line between Saturday and Sunday. Went to McCoy's (our local building supply company) and bought what I thought I'd need. But with the trench open, at least it wasn't flooding under the house anymore. I took the day off yesterday and finally got a new line in and hooked up by 6pm. I still have to replace the drain line from the kitchen sink to the sewer. I still had one of those grease traps that was prevalent a long time ago, and it was totally shot, so I'm going to bust it up and run a new line straight to the sewer. Once all done, I can cover everything back up, and I'll be ready to get back on the project I was initially going to get done on Saturday. Nothing like doing all this in 100º weather! But I have to work today first.

Hope everyone has a great day! And hope mine is better than the last 3.

Good morning Retired, Paul and lurkers

Oh boy, Paul. I'm sorry you had a rough few days. I'm glad it's not flooding under the house anymore. I hope it gets better for you.

Lori, Niagara Falls itself is absolutely breathtaking. The city is an eyesore. Run down and not much for tourists. Too much greed and corruption. Such a shame because it could be an awesome tourist destination. So much potential. Glad they had a good time. :)

Have a great day everyone. Final lacrosse game this evening. Thank goodness. ;)

Good morning Paul. Oh man, I couldn't like that post. :(
Hopefully once you're done you won't have to revisit any of that for a long time, if ever!

I think they tried to stay in the city, he said the first hotel they booked, I think it was the 4 Points Sheridan, but not 100% sure, but they got to their room, and the bed wasn't made, nor changed.
    Needless to say, they left.

Good morning lovely and handsome Lurkers
Managed to sleep in a bit :)

Wow Paul! What an awful time you've had :( You're right, much too hot for that kind of work!
    Good morning Dale.
Glad you were able to sleep!!

    Off for more coffee. :)

    Ugh. I can relate. Twice...

House I owned here in San Antonio many moons ago was built on the cheap, including the city utility hookups. City would put those cast iron sleeves around the water meter with absolutely no support underneath them. So eventually, the sleeve would be resting on the water lines, eventually breaking them. After the 3rd or 4th time repairing the damned thing (it always broke on MY side, not theirs), I started yanking those stupid iron sleeves out of the hole and just left the cover there. Ended up with a couple of dozen of those damned things in my garage.

Place I was renting in Austin about 12 years ago, developed a backed up drain line which flooded the master bath. After an emergency trip to Home Depot to snag a shop vac, I called the issue in to the management company. Plumber came out and discovered that the old iron piping under the house had collapsed. They ended up digging up the yard and under the foundation to replace it all. Fun times.

Good morning my lovely lurkers.

Oh yuck Paul...sorry you had to deal with that...glad you got it fixed up though.

    Happy Anniversary Dale!

Oh boy did I eat way too much last night at the buffet...the food was great, but I definitely overdid it...and then having a drink after put me over the top and I was seriously uncomfortable...had a terrible stitch in my side and just felt horrible...had to come back to the condo and lay down...ended up falling asleep early and sleeping it off...feel just fine today...hoping to get out to the pool in a bit, before the rain comes again.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
