I heard you guys went to stage one awhile back. First time in a few years. I hope this extreme heat breaks for us pretty soon and we get some significant rain.

Part of the problem is all the idjits who insist on keeping their lawns green in the summer. I'd wager the majority of water usage is from those who are watering their lawns. Considering I hate mowing, I'm more than happy to let that sucker go "brown" during the summer.

I never water the lawns in the summer. My water bill would go through the roof, and it's not worth it. It was bad enough finding out from the city that I had a water leak somewhere that was using about 800 gallons per day. I do try to water my smaller trees and potted plants, keep the pool topped off, but that's it.

I always say you can tell how good a summer was by the color of the lawn come Sept. If it's green, then we had a crappy summer. Course that doesn't apply to all you guys stuck in the miserable heat wave with no rain in sight.

We have watered our Black Diamond watermelons like crazy but they just couldn't handle the sun and heat! Finally gave up this morning and cleared the watermelon patch and found only 3 tiny melons. Our cantaloupe aren't doing much better. It has been a sad growing season for us even with all the rain we had before! Soon the grasshoppers will take over our yard
Texas summers are getting hotter and hotter :(

Good afternoon :) Yes, it's hot ... was hoping for rain Friday but the chances dropped from 60 to 20% :(

Today wasn't terrible, 270 pounds of burger, 225 pounds of taco, 70 pounds of ground pork and boned rolled and tied 4 hams. Boss cleaned the equipment :w00t:

Supper is in the oven, cooking early but no where near ready to sup ... although I'm sure DH is

Wow, I sure feel for all you Texas people. We've had a break from that, and rain.
It's not bee horrible at all here this week. It was pretty hot yesterday, with heat indexes up again, and it's really muggy today, but nothing like Texas. :(

Sorry about your garden stuff Chili.

Oh Sara, some years the grass here has gotten a little crunchy, but nothing like what Texas has been having.

Dale, sorry your chance of rain is fizzling out. :(

Dinner here is leftover pasta salad. :)
