Pretty common in the country remember Sam Druckers Store :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Thought that was just fiction. And I have been living in rural Indiana for years, and I can tell ya that even the town I lived in with a population of 300 (circa 1985) didn't have the PO in the store (which coincidentally was owned by a guy named Sam).

    LMBO!!
    Yeah, that's smaller than here. I think we're 900 or 1000.
I think our bedroom is larger than the lobby of the post office where the P.O. boxes are though.

Yes, but did the Village call with a recorded message to let you know it's the local priests birthday and where the birthday party would be held??

They will also occasionally call to remind people to lock their cars if someone's had something stolen.

We were sitting on a neighbor's patio the other evening, someone went by in a utility vehicle, well two people were in it. The passenger had a beer bottle in their hand.
I said to the neighbor who is on the village board, um...did that person just have a beer bottle in their hand...he said, yeah...I think so...I'm just glad it was an adult.

    Wow.
They've cut hours at a lot of the small post offices around here, and there's been talk of a lot of them closing.
Our's is open from 9-11:30, and 1:30 til 4:30, and only for an hour on Sat. a.m. It's not big, but it's a nice brick building.

    So I understand...
Actually, my sister has that big old scar.
She nearly died. They didn't even sew her up, just left her open with drains. She was in the AF hospital in Valdosta...Moody I think, for over 2 weeks.
