Good morning, Fran. That's too bad for them and for the area. All hotels, rental cars, everything were fully booked. I'm sure there will be a bunch of disappointed folks. Well, he's still not working, so that's a good thing. I hope him and his wife enjoy themselves nonetheless.

I would say I'm glad it's Friday, but my weekend won't necessarily be so pleasant...biggest complaint from my son, satellite getting knocked out and him missing all the football games on Sunday....Think I'll double check my alcohol stash just in case, so I can at least not care when he starts complaining.
Oh, and btw, Jim Cantore is here in my city....we're screwed!

Three day weekend? Those are incredibly rare, so no, I'll be at work Monday. I don't even know what holiday is coming!

No, only the feds get that minor holiday. I take 3 holidays a year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. If I'm lucky, I'll take Christmas Eve.

Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day??
We get all the usual. We also get Veteran's Day paid.
You can take it on the day, or take it the day after Thanksgiving. Most everyone takes it the day after Thanksgiving.
We have a couple that march in parades, so they take it the day of.
It really depends on if I'm caught up with things. I think this year we took off on the 4th. Same thing goes for the day after Thanksgiving. I might get it off this year. Too early to tell.Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day??
