Sounds like it's been the day for bad days...had enough of that brown stuff hitting the fan this morning, that it took all day to clean it up...and put me way behind on everything...ugh!

Lori and Dale, sorry both of you girls had a bad day...hope you can relax tonight and that tomorrow is a much better day for you both!...Heck for us all!

    Ugh.. Where to begin.

Sprang the GF from the hospital after 4 days, then we decided to do a quick overnight down to Corpus Christi on Sunday for some "us time". Monday morning, my landlord is calling me to inform me someone broke into my place, ransacked it, then stole my truck. So it's a mad dash back up to San Antonio, and meet the deputy at my place to provide the information on the truck. In what is probably one of the quickest recoveries ever, 20 minutes after the deputy inputs the info into the system, I find out the truck has been stopped NE of Dallas and is being towed to the impound lot.

Since Monday was a holiday, nobody to answer the phones at the local cop shop up there. Call on Tuesday, get a release on the truck and I let them know I'll be up there later that day to get it.

GF has doc appointments in the AM, so we get a pretty late start. Rent a car to drive up to Dallas, drop it off at the airport and take a taxi to the impound lot where we find she's lost her wallet and glasses. I have enough cash to pay for the taxi, but to my chagrin, credit card is maxed and can't bail the truck out. Initiate a payment on the card, but know it won't kick in until around 5am. Yep, we spent the night at the impound lot. Get the truck out, drive back over to the airport where we find her wallet and glasses in the rental car. Get back home well into the afternoon and I figure I've been up for over 36 hours. Getting too old for that kind of stuff!

Truck was in decent shape, but the interior was totally trashed. Lot of cleaning and still have to do some minor repairs to replace a microphone and get the speakers hooked back up. Steering column was not broken as they took the keys to the truck off my kitchen table.

    And yes, I'm pressing charges.

Yikes, Retired. I’m sorry. What an awful thing to have to go through and now have to clean up the mess after all that. Glad to hear the damage is minor.

    Good morning, Lurkers:wub:

Retired, that's so infuriating to have that happen. Glad they caught the guy and that you got your truck back.

Sounds like everyone had a tough week. Thank goodness it's Friday! Had a supremely rough week myself. It's been blazing hot, but looks like we're going to get some good rain this weekend. We really need it. It's been so hot and sunny that I can't even keep my pool stable. Having fits with that.

Tomorrow, we're taking my dad out to eat for father's day and his 84th birthday. Going to his favorite Mexican place. Then my sis and her husband are taking him there for lunch on Sunday. He should have his fill of that place for awhile.

Hope you all have a much better day today and a wonderful, relaxing weekend.

That sounds like the perfect way to end a rough week, Paul. Happy Birthday to your Dad!! :) Hope you all have a fabulous time.
