Good evening lurkers

Oh no, poor Mimi. Hope the return visit went well.

I agree, Dale. So glad that Monday is over.
Oh yes, the chili was amazing. I like it to be really thick, so you can scoop a bunch of of that spicy goodness out of the bowl with a Frito or Tostito Scoop.

I use cooked ground beef and ground turkey (pound each), two bell peppers, couple stalks of celery, one onion, two jars of canned tomatoes, 3 cans of beans (chili, kidney and black) can of Rotel, two cans of tomato sauce and chili seasoning packets. Toss everything in the crockpot and cook on high all day. Then to top it off we had pepper jack, cheddar, scallions, sour cream and hot sauces. Mmm! Can’t wait to make it again next year ;)

Glad to see most everyone's Monday was survivable.

Went to see company DR this am, basically wrote same thing my DR wrote.

Survived day at work, got home and a registered letter had arrived from Corporate.
Inside I found a bunch of paperwork for family leave and short term disability claim papers, and a comment with in the letter that irritates me to no end.

The statement basically says if I do not return to work by such and such a date they will terminate my employment.

Now what really  makes me mad is that I did not request any of this , my time off was to be covered by a combination of sick leave and vacation time.:grr:

I have a feeling my :censored: HR person took it upon themselves to submit this request on my behalf.

So tomorrow will be on the phone with Corporate to get this sorted out correctly.:glare:

    Good morning lovely lurkers.

Got about 6 hours sleep last night so not dragging quite as much today...I think even if I was able to sleep for a week, I'll still be permanently tired.

KC glad you're back at work...sorry your HR sucks though. Hope you get it all straightened out without any hassle.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning KC and Angel

Woke up to a fresh blanket of snow :grr: and a lot of car accidents. Kiddo slipped in the driveway and went down :( said he was ok. I was too far away from him to help stop his fall. I’m so over winter.

I feel ya, Angel. I’m perpetually tired. I need about 7.5 hrs. Few minutes more and I feel yuck, few minutes less and I’m groggy and still tired. Trying to hit that every night is impossible. Frustrating.

Made it to work no problem. Roads are a mess though. Kiddos band concert is tonight. Have a great day!

Good evening Lurkers, look who’s home ;)

Glad you got a little sleep Angel :thumb:

Sorry to hear that about kiddo falling, hope he really is okay. Y’all be careful running around in that stuff :(
    Good evening lurkers

Dale, you got home at a decent hour  hope your show was a good one tonight.

Kiddo seemed no worse for wear this evening. Thank goodness. Omgosh! Concert was amazing. Brought tears to my eyes. The entire district played the final song as one large band. A lot of talented kids that’s for sure.

    Sweet dreams lurkers

Yes I did :thumb: NCIS was a rerun but I watched it anyway. I’m not much good for anything else tonight, yawning my head off

Oh I remember watching DD play in concerts, I know just what you mean :)

    Good night Sara

    Good evening all.

Oh KC, I just have no words. Hope you can get it all straightened around! Seriously, no words for that. :(

Angel, hope you can get a little more sleep tonight than the last couple. Man, it's miserable if you can't sleep...especially with the schedule and daily demands you face. :( (((HUGS)))

Sara, your chili sounded absolutely wonderful!! Wow!! Made me want chili!!
Sorry about your snow (again), and kiddo falling, glad he seems okay.
The concert sounded really nice!! I'm sure he's very proud to be a part of something like that.

Dale, is NCIS over for the season, or do they just have repeats to stretch it out??

Not a lot to report from here.

Mimi checked out just fine. He didn't even re-glue it closed. He said it would finish healing on it's own, and that she'd prob just chew the glue off again.
AND...once again, she was a pistol in the waiting room.
Going to have to be careful and see if she really *is* good around other dogs the way her adoption ad said she was. They said at the vet that she could just be over stressed from her recent situation, and too many trips to the vet.
They suggested to not read too much into it and see if she calms down when she goes there next time...hopefully down the road some.
Also, no charge again for the trip to the vet. Was so appreciative of that.
He said I did the right thing by bringing her, even if she didn't need anything. Not something they can determine over the phone without seeing her...so that made me feel better.
For this, a cone on her head wouldn't really have helped, she can reach it with her back paw. LoL
I guess I've never been through a spaying with a female dog.
The ones we had already came that way, the one we had when I was growing up was spayed, but I don't remember any of the aftercare or healing time.
    Might have been too young.
...anyway, sorry for all the dog talk, I don't have much else interesting going on to talk about.

Alright, I'm heading off to read a bit and go to bed.
    Sweet dreams to all.

    Good morning lurkers

Sorry it was a repeat, Dale. Hopefully it was one of the better episodes.

Aww, so glad the visit went well and they didn’t charge you, Lori. Don’t you worry about all the pup talk, we love hearing about Mimi. Yeah, he was super excited and couldn’t stop talking about it. He wants to try a different sax now. Either Alto or Bari. The school has a few of each and will let him once the older kids are done. Thank goodness we wouldn’t have to rent a second instrument.

Ahhhh hump day. I’d be happier if it were Friday. But I guess I’ll take it. At least there is nothing on the schedule after work.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

    Good morning lovely lurkers.

I did get more sleep last night...of course it might have been the 2 margaritas I had with the boss that helped. :p:laugh:

Sara, sorry you guys are still dealing with the snow and that kiddo fell...glad he's okay though. Glad the concert went well too...I remember my boys playing in those too...they really enjoyed it.

Lori, I love hearing about Mimi! And I'm glad she's doing good. When we had Ms. Bear spayed she had to wear the cone...she was an escape artist and kept getting out of it!...We finally just gave up and let her be and she ended up healing just fine anyway.

Hope everyone has a great day today!
