Good morning Lori and lurkers

That looks like a nightmare to navigate. :(
and I do not blame you for not wanting to add to your work load.

I’m seeing on the news about the southern states reopening and my jaw is on the floor. You can not reopen and maintain social distancing safely. I’m not sure what the answer is. I know the economy is hurting and I feel bad for small businesses.

There are a couple locations here that just started the antibody testing. I thought that was great and now the news is saying it could give people a false sense of security, the tests aren’t perfect.

... and yes, coming in or out, you have to get out and swing open the gate.
I got lucky and didn't have to move, or wait for a rush of customers.
When some have opened the gate to go in or out, customers just drive on in. LoL
Some, when they call in, say...do y'all know your gates are locked?
 <~~ we need that for rating a post. Lol.

Yes, I agree...
I would just like to see us get to the point that we have clear numbers and models, it's realistically impossible to judge any of this.
One politician said that we can't burn down the village to save the village... and, I get that... we've really yet to see major repercussions of the economy crashing, I suppose that could be even more terrifying than the pandemic, especially if civil unrest begins.
I think it could get really ugly quick.
Nope, there just aren't any good answers...
I also think that, now more than ever, we all just take it one day at a time, that's always been what's recommend.
Just do what you can with what you have.
I just know that I'll lose my sanity if I continue to try to analyze this, predict where it all goes, etc...
I've officially hit a wall. LoL

Well .... good morning Lori and Sara

I agree everyone seems to be relaxing too early, Americans aren’t good at sacrificing are they? We’re going to have another wave and thousands are going to die :( I guess it is what it is, we’ll just have to get through it. Y’all take care of yourselves please!

    Good morning Dale.

I agree, the death toll will most definitely go up. :(

I'll be curious to see more results regarding covid exposure and people who never had symptoms, or extremely mild symptoms.
So far, the small studies have been showing some pretty surprising numbers, but like Sara said, having antibodies could be a false sense of security until they can really pin down if it provides protection from reinfection, and if so, for how long.

Even if things reopen, each of us can still decide what we choose to do, outside of work.
We're just going to have no choice but to adapt to our new world, course who knows what that's going to look like.

I have a hair appointment that was rescheduled to April 30th.
Our state is technically still closed until then, and I fully expect at least another two week extension... but who knows.
I'm leaning towards not even thinking about going until June, and that would depend on what's going on then.

Some people may have antibodies but this stuff is mutating already so I’m not sure how much good that’s going to do.

A hair appointment? Is it really worth it? :( At least wear a mask!

Yes, I'd heard that it was changing, I'm hoping it will still work out that the vaccine efforts will still be valid.

Nooooo, a hair appointment (to me) isn't worth it. Maybe I didn't explain that too well.
That was my point, not worth it...at all...I do feel bad for her, losing so much business, but not bad enough to risk it.

One downside for us right now is the ease of ordering of products online. From every day food to pantry staples 25lb bag of flour, soil, fertilizer, seeds, and other household items. A lot has come from big box stores and bigger corps. Very few things from smaller businesses as most don’t offer shipping and right now we are trying to limit exposure.

Granted, once things are back to whatever the new normal will be, we won’t be buying groceries online and hopefully the mom and pop places will still be up and running.

But the positive is that we are doing things we’ve never done before. The extra time helps. Making bread, growing herbs, scallions and veggies.

Omgoodness. I was supposed to get my hair cut/colored on 3/17. I canceled the appointment out of paranoia. Salons were still allowed open at that point. I look frightful with the amount of gray  and it’s getting too long/heavy for my liking. Tempted to try to cut it straight across the back just to lose some weight. Kiddo looks like a hedgehog and DH has taken to wearing hats 24/7 ;)

A LOT of smaller places are offering phone in/email orders and doing curbside pick up, they even will load it in the back of your car. Small grocery stores, local butcher shops, farmers market type stores.
I think they saw early on they had to adapt or lose business to mail order and Walmart.

A easy self haircut.....bend forward at the waist, tuck your chin in towards your chest, comb all your hair to your nose...or chin, as if you were going to put in a pony tail there...pull/comb it all evenly to that point...pull it together like that would be where the pony tail holder would go...cut straight across there. It will give you a lightly layered cut.
You have to kind of have longer hair for that to work though.

    Oh okay, good! :)

Yes, I'd heard that too.

...since I'm a beauty school drop out, I can cut DH's hair, but he's not a good patron....he's too impatient, and I'm SLOW....:lol::lol:

In the beginning we definitely took advantage and stocked up on meats from the butcher, produce place. Even had take out pizza. As things worsened we’ve heavily relied on the internet. Maybe as things improve we’ll venture back out. Dh said the other day, let’s get pizza. So one day for lunch I made him some pizza logs in the air fryer and the next day is when I made the pizza

Thanks for the tip on haircutting. I’ve been wearing it in a messy bun, easier to wear the mask if it’s up. It is getting pretty long and if I don’t go back for awhile I just may do that.

Governor is saying we are on the plateau. Looks like he is at Roswell in Buffalo. I missed the beginning.

I was just looking, I'm going to try pizza dough in my bread machine next time I make it.
I'm really hungry for my favorite pizza place, but I won't cave, I'll just make at home.

I've been wearing mine up too, we haven't been wearing masks at work, we're all spread out, it wouldn't be a bad idea though, just an extra layer.

I’ve had that hair cut before Lori, it does work well :thumb:
Even better if you can have someone else do the cutting like a spouse ;)
    It does work well.
I was shocked, I haven't done it in years, but it was amazing.

I was listening earlier too, you can catch it on his FB page after the live feed is over.
    Governor Andrew Cuomo
I'd been listening daily for awhile, but haven't been able to the last few days.

Just had a video appointment with my regular Dr., normal check up for getting meds refilled.
    That was great.
At the end, I ask him how HE was doing. He laughed and said he never thought he'd see a true pandemic, like this one is, in his lifetime.
He said just do all the things they're telling you to do, and try to keep distance when you're around people, that's really all you can do.
He affirmed that right now the numbers for EVERYTHING are just all over the place, too early to get good medical conclusions just yet.

Yep they bring them up here, they are building a barracks to house them behind the plant this year. Previous years they put them up in a hotel.
