Sometimes I don’t hear what the doc says:)

Carpet guy is done and gone, called school to have them fix the issue is done. She could not figure out why it happened, I just did not want it mess my credit up I still have to go through the final process of the mortgage yet.

Getting ready to grind up half of this huge brisket to mix up for burgers. The other half I am going to smoke on the grill.

Dale do you think I should grind the brisket with the fat still on or trim down. Never done this before
Without seeing it I wouldn’t know. Depends on how lean you want your ground meat :?:

This brisket had a lot of fat, I cut the brisket in 1/2 than trimmed about 80% of the fat off. There was about 5lbs of ground brisket altogether made some burgers and what is left I will make a brisket/pork mix meatloaf :drool:

Yeah that wedge on the corner definitely needed to be trimmed down. When you buy a large cut of meat like that you need to feel of it and get something with the softest fat.

Paid around $45-$50 @ $3.00 a pound I should have did a better job picking one out there were a bunch in the case at walmart. I made brisket burgers they were so good :drool::drool:. Going to mix up the pork, ground chuck and ground brisket up to make a meatloaf, also just rubbed up the other half of the brisket that is smoking on the grill right now. We will be eating good the next few days :drool::drool::drool::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Edit: Thanks for the tip to check how soft the fat is :)

Oh yeah lol Hey what the hell is organic ground beef is it any good??
I assume it’s grass fed without any additives or pesticides in its feed. Grass fed beef is definitely different, when butchering you can smell the grass  I would imagine you can taste it too

Oh yeah. Remember when we made those short ribs? The house smelled slightly unpleasant. I was so glad they tasted alright.

    Good morning lurkers

I’m not 100% sure but I know the last couple of times we made beef it smelled funny to me and I am not pregnant  and it was from the cow we ordered.

hmm, I just went back and reread my posts. Guess I never did bring it up here must have been talking to the girls at work lol I searched for funny smelling beef (not spolied) and apparently it is a thing  who knew.

eta. The ribs did smell good when I seared them but it was after they were in the crockpot for awhile they smelled off to me.

    Good morning Sara

Probably not grass fed then, you’d definitely recognize the grass scent. But yeah, I know my mother hated the smell of boiling beef.

Yum! Can’t wait to see it, Joey. :thumb:

ohh Dale. I hope you feel better. :( Nothing wrong with leftovers.

We did fake steak (steakumms ) sandwiches with provolone cheese, mushrooms and onions, chips on the side. Not a healthy dinner but it was delish. We make real shaved beef ones too but sometimes you gotta have the steakumms. ;)
