Thanks, Dale. Me too!! It was coming down so hard on our way home, we drove with our flashers on. I have never seen anything like this. Was joking with DH that we’d better get started on that ark. Hopefully by 9pm. But they originally said 7:45. Fingers crossed.

Sounds more like an Arkansas storm. I hope you guys aren’t too hot then, miserable doing without power :(

Thankfully this storm brought some cooler weather. Currently 73. It’s starting to feel slightly warm upstairs. Still no power and the basement now has a couple inches of water. Not too worried about that because everything is up off the floor from the great flood a few years ago

    Sweet dreams

    Good morning lurkers

Ohhh Dale :( I hope you were able to go back to bed.

It’s much cooler in the basement, so that will help a bit. Dh said it was no where near as high as the first time it flooded and that was in the winter time.

When the power came back on the sump pump took care of most of the water. So we squeegee any low spots towards the sump hole. And turn the fans on 24/7 until everything is dry. We also have a dehumidifier down there. Sounds like we got another 6 inches.

The power was out until around 10pm so 5 hours total. I think that’s the longest it’s ever been for us here in the new house. Since it usually takes a couple days to thaw meats from the freezer, I’m assuming all that beef is ok, right?

Not yet, I was supposed to leave with DH at 7:30 this morning to take Elly to the vet for tests and DH to get his car but the mechanic called and they sent the wrong part  So now I don’t have to go, I’ll lay down soon after DH and Elly leave.

Yes your freezer goods will absolutely be fine :)

Hope it quits raining soon for you!

Fingers crossed on Elly’s tests :nun:

The rain ended late last night for the next couple days. They are talking about more storms Saturday into Sunday. Ugg so mad about the food we had to toss from the fridge. We should have checked the temp when the power came back on but we didn’t and I figure better safe than sorry. Thankful tomorrow is garbage day. Lol.
