Good Evening Lurkers.
I'm glad everyone's safe. That's job#1 . Healthy and Happy is job#2, after that, it's all icing on the cake, eat it up if you please.
It's been a relatively mundane week in the house o' Kelt. Work, work and more work, with a daily dose of Geocaching to keep things a little spicy. I'm on a "streak" now... 27 consecutive days with a find every day. I even got to meet the owner of one of the caches, as I delivered a parcel to him at his home, and introduced myself. Today was hiking day, I took KC the Bull Mastiff out for a saunter on the Buckeye Trail, hunting for and finding four out of six geocaches ( the other two are missing or were beyond my abilities). Best was a quick shimmy up a tree to retrieve the cache, as miss KC lay down and watched...it's a tough life being a big girl who like to sleep all day and is forced to walk miles and miles
Spring is so eager this year, I can feel it straining at the edges of the days...tiny shoots of green everywhere, bright pops of daffodils and hyacinths and that smell as the ground begins to warm up, slightly musty from partially decomposed leaves and also fresh and bright from the rising sap and nascent life. Rain and wind have wreaked their havoc, lots of downed limbs and the occasional full tree across the trail, but the busy BT beavers will be out with their gasoline powered teeth (chainsaws) to clear the debris soon. If the nearest sections were not so far from home, I'd join them, but there's so much to do otherwise.
With reference to my addictions (LOL).. I scored a Juggerknot
rta (did I tell you that already?) and I like it, but boy, does it drinka tha
juice! Also arrived this week, a new to me backpack in olive green waxed canvas and leather, a 1/4 zip merino longsleeve top in rust color, a smartwool hoody (for a steal from the classies on reddit), and a pair of merino wool slouch shorts (Can you tell I like merino wool?). There was also one of "Those" orange packages (Temu) with bits and bobs for the house, and a new WiFi router, because Upgrade. I'm down the rabbit hole of Smart Home...lights, plugs and speakers and the rental router from Spectrum was beginning to complain.
Gently getting ready for the week ahead now, I like these unhurried Sunday evenings: there's a pleasure in simple tasks...washing dishes, making tomorrow's lunch and a batch of "pill pockets" for the doggos. This is my night of the week for a wet shave, and I enjoy that process too, the preparation, lathering, brushing and exacting draw of the safety razor across skin, aftercare and happy smile as I check to see that I've removed all the whiskers. KC is up on my bed, worn out and snoring. It's the quintessential "man and dog" moment LOL
If you've made it this far, thank you for indulging my journalling. I hope you all have a pleasant evening, and an enjoyable week. I'll check in next weekend for another
thrilling episode..
