Can't believe the week has gone by so fast and it is time to set the garbage out again. Seems like that is every couple of days. heehee After everyone puts their cans out on my dead end street, I am going to get rid of my 5 big bags. Several on this street have very little trash. Of course, I have already asked if it's okay. I went around and asked when I had to find a way to get rid of my mom's 418 VCR tapes that were in plastic cases. I loaded up every can on the street.

Hope everyone has a nice day. I sure hope I get some sleep tonight. Had too much on my tiny brain last night. Eating a bunch of watermelon before bed did not help.

I got in 16,000 steps today. That might help too. Sure was nice walking outside because it is still cool. Since my trip to that cabin, I have been thinking of living in the mountains where it is cool. Somewhere with running water in my backyard and not very peopley.

Have a great day.

Good morning lurkers

I think I might go at 55. I’ll have 27 years in, Dh seems to think I wouldn’t get that much more by staying the last 3. Sooooo I put this on my phone

:lol::lol::lol:

Ahh you know teenagers/young adults, Dale. They don’t like being told what to do. If he’s 2 that would that would put him at the same age as kiddo in doggy years. 3 and he’s at the legal drinking age

Rat2, that is a cute house!! I think it will look great with whatever color roof you choose. And have fun, you go paint that door whatever color you want. I’m with you….I hope to be far away from people when I retire, well once kiddo is settled and my folks are gone.

Have a great day everyone:)

Good thinking, Dale :thumb: i forgot about that. Don’t do anything wild and crazy Rat2!
    Hi Sara ;)
Fish sticks and frozen fries and green beans were had here for supper. Fish sticks are not something I would normally serve but we keep getting them from the food bank people and I hate to waste food.

Oh, I totally agree with nothing crazy. Everything I am doing or going to do will be with resale in mind. Dad liked the black roof but it was so hot and costs more to cool in the summer. The man suggested two other colors and I do trust his opinion on what would look nice.

He is going to do it next Wednesday if the weather cooperates and said that it would only take one day. He was a very nice man. He required half for a deposit. I started to give him $6000 and I asked for a receipt. He said he would email me one. Well, you know that did not sit well with me and I told no, he would give me a receipt before he got the money. I was not being snarky and yes I knew he would email me a receipt. But what would have happened if he had had a wreck or something? There are so many things that could happen. I just think it is smart to get a receipt for cash any time. I guess working for a bank for 12 years made me extra careful. It is actually just plain o'l common sense.

My aunt wanted to mow today which I did not think was a good idea. Her foot was a little swollen earlier today when I check it. Then tonight it was more so and a little dark around it. I told her daughter if it was my decision, I would let a doctor look at it just to be safe. Dad had cases that were cellulitis and that can be dangerous.

Well anyway, to keep her from doing it, I did all the trim work around her house, her grandson's house, and my house. I also mowed outside the fence at the street on all three houses. I am not complaining because I got almost 20,000 steps in today. What sort of made me ill was when I was finishing up, her grandson came out the door and was putting on his shoes. I sure hope I did not disturb his nap.

He did tell me tonight that he appreciated it but that is not the point. He knew his grandmother's foot was injured. He also knew the grass needed mowing. He is 30 years old and I think it is time he starts acting like it. I know I sound like an old fart but. . . kids, these days. Sheesh!

I got out my lawnmower and the belt somehow slipped off and the blades would not engage. Grrrr I guess now I will not complain about Dad making me put that belt on 3 times. I never understood what caused it but he had done it one time also. I thought I had retired from being a mechanic but I fixed it anyway.

When I am working in the driveway on equipment, I always leave my phone up in the garage so nothing happens to it. Well, Dan asked me to take a picture of what I was talking about and I laid my phone down and forgot about it. (entirely my fault) Well when I finally got the belt back on and it put back together, I wanted to try it. It does not do it in the grass but on the concrete, it will roll back a little bit so when it did, I ran over my phone. Dan said I can't believe you are not upset about running over a $1200 dollar phone. But what good would it do? It would not fix my phone or turn the clock back so I was not careless. Everyone knows I love my phone. I have not decided what I am going to do. I was planning on getting a new phone in February of next year and this year is already half over. I am contemplating just reactivating Dad's phone. It is pretty old but he did have a new battery put in it last year. I will ponder what to do later. I had rather save my money for something fun.

Not all of my posts can be funny (although I prefer that). Sometimes accidents happen and things are sad. Thank goodness I am smart enough to know that it is just life and you roll with whatever is thrown at you. Tomorrow is another day and things could always be worse.

I forgot to tell you about the real sweet woman down the street. She said her son could not get the wheel off her wheelbarrow so you know I carried it home and worked on it. She needed a new tire. I called her and told her I would go to Lowes for her and get one but I needed to know how much she wanted to spend. You have to laugh at this. She told me she didn't want to spend any money on it because she was planning to use it as a planter. So I came home and put it all back together and returned it. I would have liked to have had that little tidbit of info before I offered to fix it. But I tried to help someone so it was a good day. Trying. . . but good.

It grieves me to see you taken advantage of Rat2 :(
Awww, you are so darn sweet, and thank you. I realize that is what happens to me often but I really don't mind because it makes me feel good to help everyone I can. I honestly believe the good things I do, are why good things happen to me. However, I have not found the positive as I usually do about running over that phone.

In all my mishaps yesterday, I neglected to wish Fran a happy vape-a-versary. If my list is correct, that makes 13 years. I just think it is something pretty darn special. Being smoke-free is awesome, but it also reminds me of the wonderful people I care so much about because of vaping.

The sun is shining so as soon as the grass dries, I guess I better hurry up and mow before my aunt does it again. heehee

Hope everyone has a wonderful Fri-YAY! heehee
