Thanks, Dale. Most likely not this weekend. But that's ok. Next week is a 4 day week. I leave early for an appointment and then I'm off on Friday. I have to get started on dinner. Making Sausage Barley soup in the crockpot and I have to make an ice cream cake for tomorrow. Step dad's birthday is this coming week and we are celebrating tomorrow, here. Which means I also have to get my rear in gear and get some cleaning/set up done too lol

Hope your day is going well so far.

Ah well that doesn’t sound terribly restful :(
It’s raining here and I’m sleepy, DH is already napping.

Good evening Dale, Fran and Real-ist :)

Sausage Barley soup turned out great and I've discovered I actually enjoy barley. Woot! Took a chance and made a big crockpot full. Now we have some for the freezer.

Hope everyone had a great day!
Always good when you get a winner
Good night Sara  and lurkers :)

I just got caught up. Sorry, I have been MIA. I'm glad Sara is back and welcome to Real-ist. That is a cute pug. Sorry to hear the knee is swelling Joey. It does take time. I imagine it would be worse without the PT so I am glad you are going.

I have been on a cooking kick. Everything from baby back ribs to salmon patties. We ate well last week. Ken said we were going to have date nights this weekend so on Friday we went and ate fish (I had shrimp). Then last night he said he want country fried steak but on the way to the restaurant, we passed a Mexican place and I told him I had ate there and it was good. He turned around and went back there and it was very good.

We took a pretty good ride on the motorcycle yesterday. It was in the 50's so even with extra clothes and the new leather jacket, I still got a little bit chilly but not really bad. He got me home before the sun went down which was a good idea. I still think heated suits would be the right thing to do. Ken said he did not want one but I could get one if I wanted to. What fun would that be? I'd be warm but I'd worry about him being cold.

Even though I enjoyed the ride, because of the little fall we had last week, it made me a little nervous when we stopped at lights and stuff. I hate that but I guess it is normal. I hope it goes away. Ken still feels bad about it. It was an accident and I think he is a very good and cautious driver.

I have gone to the gym for 13 days in a row and I am still upset about gaining more weight. I have got to stop trying to impress him with my cooking.

    I'll do better starting Monday.

Sorry for writing so much but I have been gone and missed posting and all of you. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Happy Sunday to you too.

Good morning Rat2 and Dale

Thank you for breakfast and perfect quote for today and the upcoming week.

Gave some of the “soup” to my mom to try this morning. They picked kiddo up and went to breakfast. We skipped because dinner is Mexican, ;) Rat2  And then back here for the banana foster ice cream cake.

I think the warming suit for you is perfect. I don’t think you will need to worry about him getting cold one bit. I imagine if he thought it to be too cold, he either wouldn’t ride or it would be a quick one.

Must be something in the air…I’m up 2.6lbs this week. It couldn’t possibly be all the pb m&m’s or the cadbury mini eggs I ate.

Off to vacuum and mop! Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

    Good afternoon Sara
    Your cake sounds delicious!
That was my thought about the warming suit for Rat2.

Thanks Dale, there was a local restaurant that served it. My stepdad got a free dessert for his bday one year and chose that. He offered a bite and it became my favorite bday dessert. They would let you buy a whole cake. But then they discontinued it a few years back. So so disappointed. Couldn’t even buy it from the company that makes them.

Fast forward to recent times and Dh brought home a Banana Graham ice cream which was the perfect banana flavor. I got a crazy idea in my head, tried it and it worked. Not the same but very close. Hope my stepdad is surprised today. Even found a recipe for ice cream cake frosting.

Headed out to dinner. Have a great evening everyone.

    Good evening Dale

Rough start this morning, just realizing I never stopped in to say good morning. Hope you had a good day. Didn't sleep well and Dh left for NYC :nah: He will be home Wednesday afternoon. Blah!

Quick and easy french toast w/ fruit for dinner. Bonus that I had leftover cinnamon sauce and the whipped cream frosting. I used that for my toppings. The whip cream went so well on my blackberries too.

Going to watch a movie with kiddo and then try to get to sleep early. G'nite
