Good morning lurkers :). Y’all get any sleep last night? ;)

Wasn't too bad. We had spotty showers going through during the evening so that cut down on a lot of the idiocy that tends to crop up for the holiday. Got a call from a buddy who said a company he interviewed for needed some extra help for a gig tonight. Extra spendies is always a good thing.

Good afternoon retired :) According to my husband our neighbors were celebrating, lucky for me I can’t hear it anymore lols. We did get a flash storm yesterday afternoon so that probably made it a little safer.

Yes extra cash is always nice to have.

Spent most of today with my best friend who lost her husband this year, she seemed to be doing better.

Good morning Dale and Joey

That is good news about Perry, Rat2! Sorry you are having trouble adjusting to a normal bedtime, Retired. I had my days all messed up too, Dale lol and while it doesn’t feel like Sunday to me, I know you are feeling it, Joey. Hope it’s not too bad for you tonight.

Spent Friday cleaning and getting ready for the picnic yesterday. It was nice. Best part, we tried s’more’s in a bag (kinda like taco in a bag) I picked up a variety box of snack bags of cookies (Oreo, chips ahoy, nutter butter), a box of snack bags of teddy grahams and some different chocolate candies (hersheys, Reese’s pb cups etc). Choose your cookie/graham, add your favorite chocolate, roast your marshmallow, slide it into the bag and mix it around and then enjoy with a fork. It was so much fun and tasty too!! I’m a smoreaholic. Love anything s’mores.

Today is definitely a day of rest for me. Glad we did the picnic yesterday instead of today since we are under a heat advisory. We did run to our favorite farm stand for the first corn of the summer. So that’s what’s for dinner along with all the leftovers and s’mores of course

Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning Dale and lurkers

I lent my van to a step daughter, she had it since thanksgiving because her jeep needs to be fixed. Now my van needs a new rack and pinion that is going to cost $900 to fix. Just about every time I do a good thing it costs me, I’m done being nice!!

Hope you all have a great day

Ugh... Pity you aren't closer, I'd offer to do it or turn you onto a couple of places here that does awesome work on the cheap. Replacing it isn't that difficult, just a royal pain in the backside as you have to dismantle a lot of stuff to get to it.

Had to get a new ID card so I figured I'd hit the ID Office when they opened at 0600. Pulled into the parking lot at 0555, and there were already 20 people in line. Didn't get inside the building until 8, and I finally got home at about 1045. There's only one person working the desk. I guess it's better than going all the way out to JB Fort Worth. That's about a 45 minute drive at the best of times, and traffic will drag that out to about an hour and a half each way.

Good evening retired and Joey. Gosh sounds like neither of you had the best day. I know about loaning cars to our kids Joey, DS has had one of ours for several weeks now , wish he’d get his rear in gear and fix his own.

That was a horribly long wait you had retired! Hope you had something to read

Perry decided to mow my yard today. It is not that I don't appreciate it, but I tried to talk him out of it. Finally gave up. Gotta pick your battles!

I am glad he is feeling much better. We have an appointment that they made for Perry, and we don't know what it is for. We are going to go and find out.

His platelet count was bad in the hospital, and he had it rechecked at his family doctor last week, and it is even lower. They want him to see a blood doctor now. Bless his heart. I am hoping it is nothing because his half-brother has a low platelet count too. I told Perry I wanted to travel this summer. I just didn't know it was going to be from doctor to doctor.

I forgot to tell you that we went to one of his friends' houses for a cookout on Saturday. OMgosh. He fixed tuna steaks, and they were delicious. He said he only put teriyaki sauce and black pepper on them. They were so yummy.

It is the middle of the night (I couldn't get comfy) and now I'm hungry.

I could probably do the job if I had time, I work 6 12hr nights before I get 2 nights off. By then I’m too tired to do much around the house.

She also drove 15000 miles without doing an oil change so I will no longer let her drive any of my vehicles again. She had the van for 7 months I don’t even drive 15000 miles in 1 year

Heh... Good thing y'all ain't down here then. We treat distances a lot different. A destination 3 hours away is "just down the road a bit".

Many moons ago, I purchased a one ton Dodge dually. In the first 6 months, we put over 36,000 miles on the truck. Yeah, we were doing some serious road trips hauling horses and dogs. I miss that truck, too. Should have never traded it.

Mornin' y'all. This morning is going to be tinker on the car day. Have an in cabin filter I need to replace and new wiper blades. I don't know why manufacturers insist on making that cabin filter such a pain in the backside to replace. I have to dismantle the entire glove box in order to access it. The last time I did it, I broke the hinge on the door to the glove box, and it no longer sits flush with the opening. And Ford wants around 600 bucks for a new one. The reason is you can't get just the door. You have to buy the entire assembly. I think I should check a few salvage yards. Might be able to find one on the cheap.

Need to dismantle the driver's door on the other half's truck, too. Regulator is shot and she can't use the window. I hate doing those. Usually end up slicing the bejeebers out of my arms on the sharp metal edges in the door.
