Wish someone would give me some purple hull peas, those are my favorite! You’re very fortunate .
Mine too, and yes, I am. I don't remember ever having them until I pulled some out of Perry's pantry last year. I thought they were delicious.

We ended up canning 15 pints last night, but he wants more. He is the fortunate one because he has a friend who gives them to him. I am still happy that they were already shelled.

I took a little nap yesterday afternoon because I was so tired. I guess it messed me up because I took short naps all night long. Finally, I got up and started working on a jigsaw puzzle. I do not like starting the day off like this, but then again, it can only go up from here. (I hope)

Good afternoon everyone

Happy Belated Birthday, Dale  Hope you had a great day!! I’m sorry you are having to deal with all that heat. Be safe on that e bike!

Rat2, you were correct, Dh says thank you for the bday wishes :) Glad you had a nice road trip. I’m all for the beach…let’s go!

Yay for a successful first week retired! Hope it continues to be smooth sailing. $144,000 for a car is criminal! Smh!

We didn’t make it to Virginia this summer but instead rented a lake house in Honeoye, NY with my parents and bro/sil. We even brought Lucy with us. It was a lot of fun and we are considering renting the same place next summer. (It was on airbnb, vrbo and a couple other sites, Rat2 I chuckled when you said your friend cleans for them) it was exactly as advertised and we were thrilled as first time vacationers in that world lol I will try to upload a pic. So relaxing I could have stayed the rest of the summer.

Off tomorrow, celebrating our 20th anniversary. China is the traditional gift so we are having Chinese for dinner  Hope everyone had a great day! I’m working on unpacking/laundry and a quick groc list.

I have been missing an old friend (Kay, Old Broad), and today is her birthday. I found out from her granddaughter that she passed away (peacefully) in February of 2024. I was not surprised because her Alzheimer's had gotten pretty bad, as well as her COPD, but it still saddens me. She was such a wonderful lady and so very funny. I am posting it here because I imagine y'all might have known of her, too.

They were delicious and not just because I helped to can them. We only had 16 pints to can, and Perry would love to get some more. I want more too! My favorite.

I remember the name but didn’t know her personally, I’m sorry for your loss :(

Good evening all, it is currently 100 degrees here at 6 p.m. . Just keeps getting hotter and hotter longer and longer.

Just finished supper, strip steak with baked potatoes and green beans.
I haven't checked lately, but NW New Mexico has been running around 100f all day

Ooh, I bet that would be good. We went to the Moose tonight and I had a taco salad. Perry's salsa was awesome on it. I only ate half so I brought the rest home. Perry got two tacos and could only eat one of them. I guess supper is going to be leftovers tomorrow night.

You have my sympathy, it’s been a rough summer for many of us. I know those up north aren’t used to these temperatures, even us in Arkansas aren’t used to multiple weeks of triple temps.

I am so sad to hear about Kay. Yes she was a hoot and a half all the way back to the early REO days.
