Good morning Dale and retired :)

Grocery shopping done, just in time for the snow to start. Supposed to get a couple of inches this weekend. The only good thing about the snow is you can see the deer moving at dusk.

Did I tell you guys that kiddo got acceptance letters to his top two college choices? He has decided to major in Accounting with a minor is Sports Analytics. One of the schools has accepted him into their accelerated Master's Program.

Hope you all are having a nice start to the weekend.

Hopefully he doesn't major in a third field of study I did when I first went to college. Advanced Party Principles.

Retired I can definitely see you as a wild man in college. ;)

Let's just say by the end of the second quarter, I was on probation and they were threatening to kick me out. That's when I decided school wasn't for me at the time and joined the military.

Ever wonder how the tradition of angels being a Christmas tree topper came to pass?

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor.

In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor.

He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?"

And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Good morning :)

LMBO, retired!! Your college days sound quite familiar, but I ended up in a factory, then a couple call centers (not telemarketing) got my property & casualty license (sadly let that go) and finally landed in a local government office working on behalf of the state. I seriously hope he does not follow in my footsteps. He'll commute, so dorm temptations won't be there. But he's also a pretty quiet, stay to himself kind of guy.

I'm definitely relieved, Dale. Remember when we were butting heads over just picking some schools and applying. Seems so long ago. :( This year is going by too fast for my liking.

Waiting for the snow to slow so I can go shovel. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Uh huh... My parents said the same thing about me. **snicker**

I was the guy that parents loved when I was dating. The gals knew better, but were mum when it came time for me meeting mom and dad.

Had new tires installed on my truck that cost $1300

Yeah, I had to replace the tires on the Explorer about a week ago. Discount Tire wanted about $1200. Found the same tires at Wally World for a lot less. Got 'em for that price at Discount Tire through their price match program.

Good afternoon retired, Sara and Joey.

That’s quite a story retired, can honestly say I’ve never heard it before ;)

This year has gone by too fast Sara! You be careful out there shoveling snow!

Ugh Joey, sorry you had such an expense right here at Christmas. :(

We’ve had some cold weather but no snow or ice so far, I’m very thankful for that.

I went to discount tire also, I did look around but didn’t find a better deal. Their price plus the 2 discounts they gave me was good enough for me.

Made an interesting discovery today about my car, it has heated seats! Only took a year and a half to learn it.
That is funny. I love heated seats also. Don't feel bad, it took me years to find out that I had a tilt steering wheel on my CRV.

Dad's Impala had heated seats and I was glad to find my new old Lexus has them too.

Oh, that is wonderful, Sara! Congrats. From all you have said over the years, I had no doubt he would get to go wherever he wanted to go.

Boy, has my canning closet increased. Perry made over six gallons of turkey bone broth in quart and pints and also made a bunch of Turkey Soup. I know I am biased, but I think it was the best I'd ever eaten, and I think it is because it was 100% made with all that he has canned, excluding the turkey. At the Thanksgiving dinner we went to, he found a place to buy fresh fowl.

He already gets his beef and pork from the farm. Fresh does make a big difference.

It has gotten cold here, but it is time.

I would love to see a white Christmas. I think we may have had one as a kid, but I don't remember any. That would be cool.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week. Hugs 2 all.
