    Good afternoon Fran.

Raining here right now, I think the next 3 days has sunshine potential. Monday and Tuesday morning we’re supposed to have freezing weather, I’m concerned about my peonies that have come up much too early.
    Can you cover them?

    Mornin' all.

Dale, you can cover those with a PVC pipe frame and moving blankets or those large plastic sheets that you'd use for painting. It's what I've used here to over plants in front of the house. The nice thing about this is you can take the frame apart and store it for future use.

Good morning retired. :). Good idea, something to consider for this coming Monday and Tuesday. The peonies survived last night!

Had a very difficult time getting to sleep last night, was awake until 2 so no apologies for sleeping so late lols.
With the change in weather we also woke up to a gorgeous sunny day, currently 42 degrees, I think the days high will be in the low 60’s which is perfect for me.

My peonies came up early, also. About 6-8 inches. I have a long row, so there is no way I can cover them up. We had beautiful weather last weekend and then it turned cold again. We still have more cold weather coming. I hope they make it.

That was such a tease of the summer-like weather.

I had a baby shower to attend. There were so many people there. She got beautiful girl gifts, but I bet half the clothes she will grow out of before she gets a chance to wear them. Everyone who brought diapers was entered into a drawing. Guess who won? ME! I couldn't believe it. I never win stuff like that. I won a $25 gift card to Longhorn. YAY!

Also was busy canning again this week. I have a bunch of Salsa and some Chicken Veggie soup. I will probably give it a try on the next cold spell we are going to have next week. I hate it when the weather is shorts one day and a sweater the next.

We have been without power since 5 o'clock, but it just came back on. Perry was going to go wash my car, and as he was pulling out of the driveway, my neighbor's tree fell across the road and snapped my power pole in half. I don't believe in Friday the 13th, but I am relieved that he was not hurt. I do hate it though because Perry's boss invited us to go to this real expensive place to eat. He was going to pay for ours. Oh well, he said he would ask us again. I just wanted to see them drive up. They were all driving the old cars that Perry makes parts for. Rolls Royce's and Packards. All 1920's and 30's. The restored cars are quite beautiful.

I finally got to use the little generator I got. Runs very quietly on the back porch. We hooked up the fridge and the TV. It is a shame that we cannot go a couple of hours without electronics. I could have gone to bed and read my book.

I am doing well, making it to the gym every day, but only a little bit of weight loss. Oh well, it is best to lose it slowly. I did not put it back on overnight

I have a long row, so there is no way I can cover them up.

Sure there is. Just expand the PVC pipe framework. Put it together using elbows, t-junctions, etc. Then get those large plastic sheets that you use to cover your floor before you paint. Might have to get creative with duct tape to put the sheets together, but it's definitely doable.

Another way you could do it is to just stick a 15-20 inch length of pipe in the ground along the length of your flower bed. Then use old sheets to cover the bed (A-Frame). Use rocks and bricks to hold the edge of the sheets down.

If there's a will, there's a way to get 'em covered up. Just have to do some creative thinking.

Perry grilled out some pork chops and burgers tonight. I absolutely love Shake-n-Bake BBQ flavored. I loved them in the oven, but boy, are they good on the grill. A friend of Perry's gave us some collard greens, and I fixed them for the first time tonight. Perry liked them, but I would just as soon open a can of Glory.

Went down to Perry's to mow today. There was something wrong with his mower, and he is going to have to get a part to fix it. Remember when I told you that a pipe broke at his house? It was only running for a week before he got the water company to turn it off. He got a bill in his mailbox today for $943. I am going to safely assume his heart is in good shape. He said he would go talk to the Monday. Fingers crossed that they will help and give him some of that back.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

That’s awful about Perry’s water bill! I hope he can get it reduced some. :(

Mornin 'all. Going to be an interesting day today. Supposed to get up to 81 by 1 pm, then a long 50 degree downhill slide, ending up in the low to mid 30s overnight. Gotta love Texas weather.
    Good morning retired :)
Yep going to be interesting here today too, starting sometime this afternoon we’re expecting thunderstorms and a steep drop in temperatures leading into tornado possibilities. Monday morning low is 29, kind of a shock to the system.
