Mornin' all.

56 currently with a forecast high of 71. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Got a lot done over the weekend, including sewing velcro strips to a pouch I carry inside my armor carrier. I now remember why I had the tailor do all my uniform sewing while I was in the military. I poked my fingers so many :censored: times (drew blood, too!)! I tried the fabric glue.. Absolutely worthless. **sigh**

Hey all. Another fast weekend, but what do I care. I'm retired.

I lost my driptip somewhere and had everyone looking until I found it. So I had the great idea to ask Perry to glue it on, so that did not happen again. He did. Evidently, it does not dry as fast as it should, and I glued the corner of my mouth shut and the tip of my tongue. I scratched it off (with minimal pain), and all is good now.

I met a couple who happened to be friends with a friend of mine. They invited us over. These people are the most down-to-earth and lovable couple. They have a very nice, small living quarters with a pool in front of it. I love it. Then he showed us his garage.

When I say I was in awe, I mean it. It was a 120 x 80 garage. They should have charged admission. If I had to guess, there were 40 or so various vehicles, like every style of Corvette. The newest one was her birthday gift. Wow! Old bikes, MCs, a military emergency jeep, guns, knives, and a bunch more stuff. It was awesome.

Then they took us to what they called the salon, which was a few miles away. It really was a hair salon (she does hair). Downstairs, there is a game room. Jute boxes and bunches of big video game machines. You could play any song you could think of. Had every kind of drink and some food. She said, just to make myself at home.

I love these people, and not because they evidently are pretty well off. They were just so nice.

Perry asked him if he would help us move a heavy old lawyer's cabinet. He didn't want me to get hurt. He came over with a heavy-duty furniture mover and two big o'l strapping guys. Had it moved in no time. They would not take any money, so I made them promise they would let us take them to lunch one day. Super nice people. Can't wait to see them again.

Mornin' all.

It's HUMP DAY! Half way through the week, racing towards the weekend. End of the week looks like we're back in the sauna again. Ugh!

I'll be replacing the dash cam in the car this weekend with something that's hopefully more reliable. The Garmin was nice as far as size, but it was driving me up the wall with reliability issues. When it worked, it worked well. Problem is, it doesn't work more than it works!

The new dash cam is a different brand, and I decided to go all in with a front/rear camera setup, and hard wire it into the car for 24/7 coverage. I'll report back after a week or two of use. Actually paid less for this one than the Garmin, and it's highly rated by Consumer Reports.

Gosh retired, seems like you just bought a dash cam , sorry to hear it hasn’t served you well.

Yeah, less than a year. And rather than deal with the hassle of returning/replacing the danged thing, I just said to hell with it and bought something else. However, having that in the car for just the few months I had it convinced me that having a dash cam is really something that everyone should do. The amount of idiocy I see on the roads just going back and forth from work is enough to convince me that it's a necessity, not a "nice thing to have".
