OK
Now I have problems.
Trying to talk to friends, when they are online.
Storm posts at 3 ish UK time and Dreamy posts at 5 ish UK time.
Mike posts 12 hours a day.
And Clyde is logged in 24/7. (This man never sleeps)

My new room mate "Clumsy" only posts, after her chores are completed.
It may be me, but, I need a clock to work too.

If Clumsy, releases me from the kitchen at 7.30pm, her time.
Would Clyde be asleep or awake, to answer my PM's.
Would Dreamy be still talking in rhyme.
Would Darchand, have finished his pipe.
and
Would Mr P, have inhaled too much flux fumes.

This enquiring mind, wants to know.

LOL...this cracked me right up.

I have my chores done, sorta....It's 11:17 pm here now...I'm definately a night owl. The only time I sleep early is when i have to work day shift of 6:30 am to 6: 30 pm.. Have 2 of those a week...Im a grumpy goil at that time of morning.

I'm usually up till 3 or 4am my time...checking out you genius people on these modding threads...checking out the classifieds..and the new products that seem to be coming out of the woodwork everywhere !

Wow , Peter...you posted pictures...great ! Now i can gaze at them with wonder... And..you look rather green in your avitar....it wasnt my cooking was it ? 8-o

I am so proud of all of you for all of these fantastic idea's !

Now, Peter....is the wellington done ? :D

A few build pics.

Added the polyfuse under the battery spring.

Micro switch tacked in place with superglue / crazyglue.
Don't do what I did today and let some glue run onto the actuator.
(Destroyed the micro switch).
b15.JPG

Brass tube centre coming from battery connector.
Micro switch on left and resistor for LED socket on the right.
b16.JPG

Gluing in the bottle screw cap.

My God it works.

You can just see the copper tubes above the LED

Wow Peter, the MK5 is looking great! I like the changeable (/removable?) LED idea.
I've been away working for a while, and I have been trying to catch up on all the threads. Lots of cool stuff going on.
I may have missed it, but where did you get the micro switch? I would like to try something like that in my JB. I haven't decided if I want to use an actual switch or a mechanical connection. I finally worked out the button design for my 'pocket mod' (epoxy mod), and it seems to be working well, so I may just try to incorporate that into the JB.

What type of finish are you planning on doing on it? That's one of the issues I am trying to work out with mine. I've tried several different things but none are meeting my standards. It seems like spray paints take forever to cure. (It takes about a week before I can't scratch it with my fingernail.) I have also tried fingernail polish which turns out to be extremely durable, but difficult to get in a nice smooth, even coat. I even tried to add food coloring to the plastic itself before I poured it in the mold (that went over like a bean sandwich), the food coloring immediately turned to clumps, and the de-molded piece was speckled and stains anything it touches. Not sure what to try next, other than to get some color tint made specifically for the liquid epoxy I'm using. I'm skeptical about what that will look like.

Anyway...nice work. Can't wait to see pics of the finished product.

Not bad...not bad at all. Did you end up using something to hold juice in the atty?

Dont let those pesky ladies talk you in to painting it pink either...

Ew..not pink. Pick something that will go great with that light activation.

Very Nice...i love the way the light looks...also it looks like an easy hold. Easy in the hand. I really like that. I hate holding something that is cumbersome and im so afraid of dropping it...which i do quite often. This looks....comfortable :)

No !!!!!!!!11
What I have found with this mod is.
When the bottle is compressed the juice via the brass tube gets to the
steel wick surrounding the coil. (This is good).
Excess juice is sucked back into the bottle (This is good).
But
There is some juice inbetween.
This juice sits in and around the threads of the atty / battery connector. (This is bad).
Because when the threads are full the juice comes out of the air intake holes.
But
But
This extra juice is drawn back into the air intake holes and from the threads, onto the steel wick
With every inhale.

So unless you drown the crap out of the atty by virtually empting the juice bottle,
This mod vapes like a trooper every time.

And if the airlines and the US customs get there act together.
Clyde will be reviewing it. 6 days ago...........LOL

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Yay Clyde ! This one looks exciting ! Does your mailman hate you ? Mine gives me evil looks when i greet him at the door...LOL

Nah, he's really good about quickly driving up to the mailbox and making his escape. I'm usually in the back of the house anyway.

No MkV,
No fixed CJB,
redeyedancer mailed me the wrong box yesterday,
and imeo's not shipping the afs v2 until tomorrow.

Looks like my ecf contest review will be a bit shorter than I expected.

Oh well, guess I'll have more stuff to write about later.

It's almost enough to put a damper on my weekend.

I work as you know within the resin flooring industry.
Polyurethane and epoxy resins.
Both of which can be thickened with cement.
Why would you ask am I telling you this.
Well
Cement (White cement) can be coloured with powered pigments.
As can polyurethane and epoxy.
Go to your local brick supplier and ask for dry powdered pigments.
Food colouring is water based and will not work.
Inks may work, but will only give a pale translucent effect.
If you even obtain some solid children's watercolour paint blocks and
grind them into powder, those would even work fine.

The micro switch link
Sub-Miniature Lever Microswitch : Micro Switches : Maplin

Glad to see you back..

Peter..........

Thanks peter. Good ideas. I will definitely try the powdered pigments, but I think I will try the water color paint blocks first.
I realized that the food color was water based as soon as it hit the liquid. I thought about trying ink, but I thought it might bleed out and stain the hands (like the food coloring did).

Thanks for the ideas...now I just have to find a brick store:?:.

I glad you are looking forward to getting the MKv
But you knackered your toe for nothing.
(I sent it to your works address). LOL

Oh, right. I called the post office there, and no mail either. Frustrating weekend. At least the two season five episodes of doctor who will give me something to look forward to.

And a quick mouthwash/hot water treatment brought my 801 and 901 back into line on my wooden juice box mod. At least that's something.

After the incredible taste of the 3rd gens, the 2nds hardly trip my trigger anymore. It's like trying to vape wood smoke: dry and tasteless.
