I do like the idea of using plastic tubing, so not to short out the atty.
Which would also give a closer injection point to the coil.
I am looking for a supplier to do a test or two.

The reason I use brass is that I find it easy to solder the brass tube into the
battery connectors +ve hole and then solder the +ve wire onto the brass tube.

Rather than soldering a wire onto the very small +ve battery connector.

HEY, YOU FORGOT ME! Did you see my post about the 1/16 plastic tubing? What do you think?
is this tubing you talking about heating resistant? cos those clasps i was using can be soldered to the positive connector the inside hole size is perfect. so you can have one part soldered on the connector and the other one attached to your bottle. that way you could manage how much of the tube you wanted to go inside your atty cos it'd be removable! i know im very confusing... :(
clasps. the first ones on the page- http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=bd0542&channelid=

OK
If you are looking for silicone tubing I've been using some that I got for direct dripping. It can be fed into the bottle and the cartridge and there are no leaks and no sealant. I drilled out the drip tip on a 3ml bottle with a 3mm bit and slid the tubing in. It will also slip over brass tubing with no leaks or sealant.

Tygon® Sanitary Silicone Tubing 3350 | U.S. Plastic Corp.

I bought the 1/8" o.d. and 10' with shipping was about $17. Max working temp is 400deg. so it will melt/burn if it comes in direct contact with the atty.

I don't think they get nearly that hot. I've seen posts stating 165F - 250F.

I've been vaping my plastic tube bottom feeder since 9AM this morning and no signs of melting. I see no reason it won't continue to work out great. BTW, when I removed the copper, lots of yucky stuff on the copper tube, not sure what it was but I'm glad I found the plastic to be working. I guess it's really not plastic but you know what I mean!! LOL

Ok, this is what I have...nothing fancy! The bottom feed is def different, it took me awhile to figure out the exact amount of push on the bottle but I'm getting it. It's a little more thought than watching it go into the cart through the tube. I have a 2C box with an 18650 that I turned into a BF in about one minute, just removed the outside tube and ran the smaller tube through the atty hole down to the bottle.
I'm having fun with all this stuff! I have about 10 housing waiting for connectors! That should keep me outta trouble for awhile. I'm also working on a PVC mod but ran into some wiring issues and had to walk away from it. Peter, I'm having issues with the batty cover too, I got it to work but doesn't fit as nice as yours. Keep the great ideas coming, I'm having a blast!

Great fast piece of modding.
Thanks for the pictures.
Don't you just hate waiting for parts.
It's hard to see on the pics, but is the tube glued into the battery connector.
If not, do you get any juice running down the outside of the tube back
into the box.

I've made 2 design changes to the Mk5.
Nothing major but the changes increase strength.
All the parts are fabricated and ready for assembly.
I'll put some pre-assembly pictures up tonight.

Now Mike, it's your turn.........

Soooooon.....

I've all but abandoned my "Spring Box" as I'm focusing on the design I sent you a while back (heavily modified since then!). I actually have had some paying work to do recently but both projects went out the door today so that'll free up more ECF time!!!

I've got one last Photoshop Chuck to do, then an entry into the Logo contest, then back to modding!!!

I've got all my supplies on hand (well except the atty building supplies but they'll be here early next week), so I should be good to go!

Of course, nothing I come up with compares to the stuff you guys are posting but hey, everyone starts somewhere!

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Pertercro, I am excited to see your new mod. Sounds like some serious progress.

P.S. Your avatar makes me laugh but you have had some really good ones. You need to make a gif with all of them. If the gif wouldn't be to big. For your next avatar you should make Elrond a Na'vi from avatar.

Or a Vulcan from Star Trek TOS.

As promised, a few pre-assembly pics.
I've not fabricated the battery cover, so no pics.
If you look back to the MK5 original pictures, you will get the idea.

First up, led socket. 2 x 1/16 copper tubes held with epoxy. V shaped so
LED can not fall out.. Looks rough but not designed to be pretty.
Must just hold together until embedded in the mod, Behind the bottle.

Micro switch. Very small only 13 x 6 x 5.5 ish
b2.JPG

Brass tube soldered in place.
b3.JPG

First design update.
2 bolts added top and bottom, for added strength.

Second design update.
The center battery support clips. Holds the battery firmly in place

b10.JPG

Additions gluing support rings. For above and below battery and below atty.
b11.JPG

The little round disks are stolen from my wife craft cupboard.
They just happen to be the exact inside diameter.
In the CPC bag is the poly fuse which is installed under the battery spring.
b12.JPG

Last picture.
I think you get the idea.
