Great review! I agree with your findings. It works really well and is a nice atomizer. Not sure if mine got banged around during shipping or was just a "dud" but mine metered at 1.5 ohms, and part of the metal plate sealing the bottom of the atty was snapped off. Doesn't seem to have a really negative effect on anything so far, but I do kind of wish it was more in the 1.7 - 2.0 ohm range. 1.5 ohms seems a little too low for something like this. We shall have to see how the value is in a few months - if they still hold up, it's not a bad investment. Mine is still running fine after 3 weeks, but it isn't getting "all day" use as I rotate devices/atties throughout the day.

Hey all,

Thanks for the review Professor! I just received my AVA SR yesterday. Initial read on my ProVari was 3.1ohm, and settling in at 3.0. First, the draw on my AVA (off the PV & inhaling though the mouthpiece & Atty. only) is cheek puckering stiff! This seems contrary to the reviews, so I will go with my first instinct and say that mine is not right. Vaped on it for the better part of the day & evening, and there was no letting up on the Draw at all. So, before hitting the sack I sent an email to sales@thermovape.com. Woke up this morning...NO REPLY. It's now 3:30pm PST...NO REPLY. Sent another email, so let's see if they get back to me by the end of the day. For $50 including a Mouthpiece, I would expect immediate customer service. As for Quality Control, I am not happy having any issues with something that should be going out the gate strong! I will report back on how this was resolved...

Happy Vaping - e

Still no reply from ThermoVape, so in my frustration and impatience I took the Nail from an Arry Carto Punch and opened the thread holes a bit. Performance is a bit better now, so I'll keep Vaping and see how it breaks in. The Holes may be too big now, as with the wicking system it seems they need to be just right to feed the heating element. Update on the full story tomorrow!

To Whom it may concern,

Regarding order#1571, which included an AVA Standard Atomizer & Mouthpiece.

I am using the atomizer on a ProVari VVPV. The unit reads the atomizer at 3.1ohms, and I'm running the atty. at aprox. 10watts.

Regardless of the Atty. being on the PV or not, the draw (just inhaling via the mouthpiece & AVA - Not attached to PV) is cheek puckering stiff, allowing VERY limited airflow into the atty..I know it was stated that there would be a decent break-in period with the AVA, just wanted to know if this is one of the break-in issues. I've been Vaping it for a few hours, and the draw isn't letting up any...

Please let me know how to proceed!

At 6pm, I received this reply:

The draw holes may be clogged, but no worries, just give the atomizer a good bath in boiling water.. Then bake in oven for 15-20min @ 175* to dry out the atomizer.. This should solve any problems you are having

Thanks,

ThermoVape Team

***For a $40 Atomizer, I am NOT keen on boiling and baking it! Had they replied earlier, I would have told them this and asked for a replacement. Being that I increased the hole size, I guess now I'll have to use it "As is". This is truly a GREAT reason to buy an overly priced, poor quality controlled "MADE IN THE USA" (woo-hoo!) product...

Hello,

Understood regarding Voltage. Am running this 3ohm Atty. between 5.2 & 5.5volts. Regardless of the Voltage, I am unsure if you understood my issue.

Upon arrival, & b4 initial use, I noticed that the Atty. I received was almost impossible to Draw from. Are you saying that w/o use, if I am noticing a SUPER TIGHT Draw, then I should Boil & Bake the Atty.? Not sure if I like this suggestion for an Atty. costing $40! Quality Control? A break in period I understand, but the Product not functioning properly out of the packaging is a BIG problem!

Nonetheless, I read through a Thread on The ECF & stumbled upon someone else having issues with The Draw being ridiculously stiff. They carefully increased the size of the holes (above the threads), and this seemed to aid in the issue. I did the same, and it seems the holes may be too big now, causing Wicking/Heating issues.

In any event, as far as I'm concerned it should have worked properly upon arrival. I take full responsibility for altering the item, but was frustrated and hadn't received a reply from you until I submitted a 2nd S.O.S...a tad too late!

I would appreciate a replacement for this item, and wish that someone could test The Draw prior to shipment. I know they come sealed, but I would authorize this as to know that I will receive a properly working item.

I have been posting my experience on The ECF, and hope to be able to close my Posts with a favorable review!

Sincere Regards - Eric

***I will update when I receive the new Atty.!***

To those who purchased and have been using this atty awhile... how long is its longevity? I'd pay $40 if it lasts at least 4x as long as regular atty's and performance is consistent throughout...

These* will really like to know atleast the aproximate of how long , if they go strong for atleast 3 months im sold

I got mine on Saturday and it is already dead I've only used it on the ultramax at 3.7 volts I'm pretty upset I could have bought 2 hh 357s o well I put in a suport ticket to see what they say

Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk

I let it soak in vodka over night and now it is working again. I don't get it last night I tested it on a ohm meter and it was no good I put it on every mod I own and It didn't work. I woke up this morning test it on the meter now it it say 2.0 ohms and working really good.

O.K.,

Round two with The AVA SR - ThermoVape sent a replacement Atty. out, and received it a couple of days ago (a pre-paid return envelope was included, to easily send back the defective unit).

I have mixed emotions about this Atty..Those of you that want to know how long they last, should NOT think of this Atty. in such a matter. For me, this is not something you Vape on all day long. It hits best, when broken in for a SOLID TWO DAYS. The Draw is VERY different to anything else out there. It is definitely it's own thing, that you will have to adapt to. Performance is not like the HH.357 which just gets better with ea. hit the more you ride it. The AVA is like a Cluncky Rolls Royce...A Sunday Driver. After the break-in period, I find it performs best when 3 Drops (at 9.5 - 10.5 watts for most juices) are let to soak for a few minutes. If Vaped too freah, the hit is rather lackluster for me. A cracleling sound should be heard with ea. pull, with a def. hiss when it is time to re-drip. I think this atty. is also limited by it's design, in that it has many unnecessary features that get in the way of trying it in different set-ups. I do not own an RES (which is where it is optimally design for), so a Proprietary & Non-Proprietary model would be nice! It's price doesn't make you want to run and take it apart for Modding, so to use it as is, is the only option. I have a friend testing it out in different environments with some elements removed so I will report back with the results. It's VERY well made, and it's nice to have something you can boil clean, and bake (see above posts, to find info. on baking time & temp).

So, all in all it will be a personal choice whether you want one or not. I believe Steel Jan did a YouTube Review on it, and agree with most of what she said, except the Vapor Production she was getting in her Review was MUCH lower than mine. It is smooth, and more than adequate.

If I HAD to choose between 2 x custom, 3ohm, 901 Connect, Standard Barrel HH.357s or 1 of The AVA...I'd go with the .357s...If you can afford to have one, and you have the patience to break it in properly...It is a Atomizer well worth trying!

Hope this makes sense to everyone...Happy Vaping!!!

I took my chances and ordered a high res one. I received my order yesterday and the atty just could not sit straight on my Provari:facepalm:
I tried the atty with my SB and also with a 510 to 510 adapter and it was still tilted. The AO read on my Provari is 4.1 ohm.
For the taste, I am not sure my experience can be any helpful since the atty has not been broken in yet. I use this atty at 6v with Provari and I do feel my juice taste more complex than using i06 3ohm. Having said that, this atty does not produce much vapor comparing to the i06 and I need to draw really hard. Oh, and the juice are from MadVape and Copper Creek.

I have sent ThermoVape an email to tell them I want a replacement since this one just cannot sit straight and it's really annoying.

I think is best you contact apex directly , ive heard bad storys abot thermovape customer service. I also got 1 from then and lucky was good to go..... Sort off because mine seem to be too tight inside RES chamber i had to "polish" with sandpaper to make it sit not that hard but still is a pain sometimes getting it out.

BUT taste is amazing on these ! Hands down best atty for flavor and drip heads , vapor production not the best around and it burns a lot of juice but is worth it :) even if it doesnt last forever i sure will order again
