haha! now that would be worth doing.

I once submitted an iPhone app logo to Apple where I'd used the quarter note symbols from the iTunes app, and put them on an alarm clock. Apple initially approved it for release, but later caught and rejected it when I submitted the app for bug fixes. The icon had been unchanged since being approved

I've got mine in the mail and I've got same crazy engraving lined up for it already. Not laser etching but using a 3+1 axis CNC. Since the tube is chrome plated brass, it's going to have a nice contrast to it. The reason I bring this up is that I love the pirate version of the Caravella logo, and I might make some room and throw that on there too. Nicely done White Rabbit.

So I got the 8W yesterday, and I emailed the vendor I bought it from already.

Kinda hard to tell in the picture but theres a lot of black residue thats somewhat gunky built up along the bottom side of this tube, threads are fine and the outside is pristine, not sure what this crap is though.

Normal? Thoughts? I haven't seen this before in any mods I've purchased. It almost seems used, as the top cap was also slightly scratched up.

It is a shame that you can't get a product or mod that works GREAT out of the box. I think vaporteckusa.com has about 16 of the 8Ws remaining in stock and are offering both the 18650 and the 18350 tubes with the new non glued switch for about $40.00 which is a good deal since most of us have either had to order the tubes and the new switch separately. If you do get a new switch or find you can take apart the old glued switch, I suggest you clip off a little of the spring (no more than one ring - or less at first). My switch with one ring of the spring cut off is now like butter, fires smoothly and still stands on the end without firing . This is one great mod once you get it adjusted properly.

Still contemplating what I want etched on my "replica" Vellas. Wiil post a pic once I have them done.

As soon as I opened the box I knew it wasn't going to be my favourite Sigelei lol. I was going to put it in the classifieds but I scratched the firing pin getting the switch apart so I had to make the most of it.

I quite like it now.

What setup is that on top and does it screw directly to the tube. It looks fantastic, love the drip tip also.

I want to do this to mine, but I am afraid that I will screw it up. Do you have any tips, suggestions that I should know? For example, did you hand sand this or did you use some kind of drill set up, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just hand sanding. Didn't take a huge amount of effort, but I did several cycles: initially 600 to 1000 to 2000, then polished with Sharkhide (any good metal polish will do); repeat 2000 and polish; repeat 2000 and polish. All sanding was done wet - just a little water on the paper.

Keep in mind the brass tarnishes fairly quickly if you are handling the mod a lot. Starts to fade after a couple of days. Can just apply a little more polish and buff from that point on.

Other notes: I cut the sand paper in 2" squares, and never had to change them; I didn't do any sanding to the tubes, as they are chrome plated, and had a nice finish. Can apply a little polish to buff them up; While sanding the brass, I used a small circular motion in order to counter the grain of the light brushed finish.

What I did was make a Fusions sg1 type hybrid disk out of a sig 19 topcap (ie. grind it down till only the threads are left) and used the smallest flat top battery I had, even then I had to grind a couple of threads off the switch mechanism and insulator collar and take some off the firing pin.

Very important to use an rubber insulation disk with a hole in the middle for the 510 connection inbetween the battery top and the sg1 type disk.

The drip is handmade here in the uk by ...

A fast way to buff up the brass is a buffing wheel (no sandpaper needed). Just use a bit of jewelers rouge (green) and a Dremel buffing wheel or a larger one you can put into a normal drill. It only took 5 minutes with the buffing wheel to bring out the shine.
